Preliminary Invitation and Call for Abstracts Invitation from the Organisers

On behalf of the Organising Committee and the Scientific Committee of IABSE 2022, we welcome all the participants and look forward to meeting our colleagues and friends in Nanjing, the city with a history of over 3000 years.

In view of functionality as structural engineers, buildings and bridges connect people and environments by crossing natural barriers. In the evolving cities, the structures integrate into the environment and harmonise with the society. Integrated structures and harmonised society connects people to nature and environment, eventually leading to technical progress, innovation and development. Therefore, we chose “Bridges and Structures: Connection, Integration and Harmonisation” as the congress theme for IABSE Nanjing 2022.

The Congress will maintain a traditional onsite format with an option to participate online. Topics will include traditional bridges and structures, and will also include new elements such as Artificial Intelligence and dealing with Covid-19. Technical Visits will go to construction sites of amazing future world record-breakers, respectively the longest cable- stayed bridge and the longest suspension bridge, as well as other elegant buildings and bridges.

Look forward to welcoming you all in Nanjing City!
