Professor in DCET, Hyderabad # Professor & Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering, GITAM University, Vizag ABSTRACT Study was performed manual & computerized in delineation & drainage sampling which is useful for the sediment analysis & interrelation between connecting streams. The advanced application of remote sensing & GIS has been applied fir analyzing different parameters. Arc GIS 10.2 is used further preparation of different thematic maps for the study area located at Medak district by using satellite images& toposheets of scale 1:50000 are used for creating drainage maps, drainage density, elongation ratio, circulatory ratio etc. are calculated Key words: GIS & RS, sediment, land use, land cover, ombrothermic graph, Contour Map, Zaheerabad, Medak INTRODUCTION Catchments and water sheds have been identified as planning units for administrative purpose to conserve precision resources. The concept of watershed management recognizes the inter-relationship between land-use, soil and water and the linkage between uplands and downstream areas. Keeping the ever increasing population, food security is needed and it is compulsory to develop water and land resources. The excessive exploitation of natural resources adversely affects the availability of these resources and causes serious threat to the existing eco-system. Water-shed development programme not only protect and conserve the environment, but also contribute to lively hood .Integrated watershed concept using is easy, simple and affordable.

NOTIFICATION OF FULL TANK LEVEL BOUNDARIES AND BUFFER ZONES OF LAKES/WATER BODIES IN HYDERABAD METROPOLITAN REGION The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is constituted under the provisions of HMDA Act, 2008 for the purpose of planning, co-ordination, supervising, promoting and securing the planned development of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Region has large number of lakes and water bodies which are of critical importance to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region for many reasons, including some as mentioned below: • Recharging of ground water to meet various uses. • To serve as lung spaces for the large urban population. • For maintaining ecological balance. • Maintain the unique character of Lake Eco System of the Region. • For developing the foreshore areas as recreational zones. In order to ensure preservation and protection of lakes and water bodies in HMDA area, the then Government of Andhra Pradesh constituted a Lake Protection Committee (LPC) vide GOMs.No.157 MA&UD (I1) Department dated 06.04.2010. The functions of the Lake Protection Committee (LPC) include listing of lakes in HMDA area, FTL demarcation, protection of FTL areas from encroachment, taking up wide publicity and awareness campaign for protection of the lakes etc. Accordingly, the Lake Protection Committee has taken up the identification and listing of lakes/water bodies in the HMDA area, involving the field staff of Revenue Department, Irrigation Department and the local bodies.

Respondent : The Public Information Officer (U/RTI Act,2005) / O/o the Mandal Revenue Officer, Shankarampet(R) Mandal, Medak District - 502248 ORDER Sri Sameer Khan has filed complaint dated 05-08-2019 which was received by this Commission on 06-08-2019 for not getting the information sought by him from the Public Information Officer/ The Deputy Tahsildar, Kulcharam Mandal, Medak District. In terms of research studies, ITP completed the studies initiated during 2010 which included: SRI adoption in Tamilnadu and Kerala, impact of rural power supply in selected states, river basin performance in Andhra Pradesh, climate change impacts in Godavari, Krishna and Cauvery basins, irrigation subsidies in canal irrigation, performance of Krishi Mahotsav in Gujarat, weather based crop insurance in Andhra Pradesh, impact of MGNREGS in Tamilnadu, financial performance of irrigation sector in India, water harvesting and agrarian economy in Gujarat and impact of tank conversion into percolation ponds in Karnataka.
