Developing a stronger, more honest relationship with those in our homes has been a blessing for many; for others it has been a tough reality of aloneness, isolation, abuse, depression.     Introduction to the Master Plan Background The Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse was established by the New Jersey Legislature in 1989 as an independent body to coordinate, plan, research and review all aspects of alcohol and drug abuse prevention activities of state government, as well as maintain a statewide prevention network of Municipal Alliances. The Council is comprised of 26 members: 10 public members are appointed by the governor; the senate president and assembly speaker each appoint two public members, and 12 ex-officio members represent state departments and agencies. The Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse adopted its mission statement, vision and goals following a collaborative process involving a varied and diverse group of stakeholders with interest in substance abuse prevention, education, intervention, treatment and recovery. These guiding principles have formed the foundation for the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive planning process to address alcoholism and drug abuse in New Jersey. The Interdepartmental Advisory Panel, which coordinates the Council’s state department representation, developed the format used in the State Government Component of the Master Plan. Their efforts made the collection of this comprehensive information possible. The Council wishes to express its appreciation to Governor Jon Corzine for his administration’s support and participation in the activities of the Council and the Municipal Alliances and its overall interest in the critical issues of alcoholism and drug abuse. The Council’s association with the governor’s office is an invaluable asset in the development and implementation of a comprehensive statewide master plan for alcoholism and drug abuse education, prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery.

    2016 Annual Report Alexandria Police Department Michael Brown CONTENTS CHIEF OF POLICE Chief’s Message 2 Dear Alexandria, On behalf of the women and men of the Alexandria Police Department, Organizational Chart I present the 2016 Annual Report. I am pleased to announce that total 3 Part I crime decreased 4% in calendar year 2016 versus 2015, except in homicides and auto thefts. Alexandria continues to experience historic crime lows. Year in Review 4 The decreasing crime rate reflects well on our community and the hard work of the employees of the Alexandria Police Department and our Map of the City 5 partners. While the report contains the statistical information shared with the FBI, it also includes highlights from each bureau with the Alexandria Police Department. Patrol 7 Three additional homicides occurred in Alexandria in 2016 than in 2015 (from four to seven), and six of the seven homicide cases have been Operations 9 closed.
