  • Pan American Championships
Canadian Team- Pan American Championships Historical Records The Pan American Squash Championships, which were inaugurated in 1991, serve as a complement to the quadrennial Pan American Games, with the Pan Am Squash Championships being held during the three years of the four-year cycle when the Pan Am Games are not being contested. The Pan Am Squash Championships are open to men and women players in North and South America, with nations selecting three male and three female athletes to represent them at the event. The competition now features three disciplines - singles, doubles, and team format. Canada has competed every year since 1992, except 2012, and while it has hosted the Pan Am Games, it has never hosted the Pan Am Championships, probably for logistical reasons. Over the years Canada has won 10 Individual and Team 1sts, and numerous other high placings. World Men’s Team Championships Canadian Team Historical Records In January 1967, the first meeting of the International Squash Rackets Federation (ISRF) was held in London. This followed a gathering, a year previously, of representatives from Australia, Canada, Egypt, Great Britain, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and USA, following which a constitution was agreed. One aspect of this was the holding of international championships, the first of which was held later in that year. Then, and subsequently, all matches have been held on a three-man team basis. At its 1994 AGM, the World Squash Federation (WSF) passed a motion increasing the maximum number of team entries to 32. Canada, which was transitioning from the North American singles hardball game to the International softball game, did not participate in this event until 1971, but has sent a team to every Championship since (1973 excepted), finishing as high as 2nd in 1997.
