Nagpur Prince Ajaykumar T Agashe (Principal Investigator) 4 “Institutional Repository of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work Nagpur.” Introduction An institutional repository [IR] is a means to collect the intellectual output of an organization. There is a need for digitizing Research productivity of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute of Social Work for preserving it for posterity in digital form. Library of Institute, Matru Sewa Sangh Intitute of Social Work, Nagpur has a 52 year’s history and Research productivity of the institute is being carried out from 1958 till date. It needs to be digitized to make globally accessible to the Society in digital format. The main objectives for having an Institutional/Digital repository are: • To create global visibility for an institution's scholarly research; • To collect content in a single location; • To provide open access to institutional research output by self-archiving it; • To store and preserve other institutional digital assets, including unpublished or otherwise easily lost ("grey") literature (e.g., theses, Dissertations or technical reports). Origin of the research problem: Information and Communication Technology has created immense methods for creating, storing, maintaining, accessing and preserving the traditional printed documents in digital form. 5 It offers great opportunities to fast, effective and efficient electronic Communication. National institutions and organizations are developing their institutional repositories. Therefore library should take initiatives to develop the Institutional/digital repositories for providing faster scholarly communication to their users. Interdisciplinary relevance The Study of Institutional Repository is carried out based on the interdisciplinary nature of the subject like Science, Humanities and Social Science. The Social Work covers areas of Science Ex. Nutrition, Health & Mental health, Hygine, Hospital Administration, Nursing and disable peoples etc. In humanities -English language, Marathi language and Hindi language. In Social Science - Economics and Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, and law. In Information Science Reading Habits , Users Survey on different Libraries, Management, Automation, Bibliometrices, Scientometrics, Citation Analysis , Content Analysis, E-resources, Online Journals on different subject, Right to Information Act, Consolidation products on various subjects Viz, Oranges, Cancer, Heart diseases, and diabetics etc. This research project will definitely helpful and useful for all Social Work professionals as well as other professionals from different disciplines.
