Day 1 - Any Uk Station To Edinburgh

Travel by first class rail from your local station to Edinburgh. This package includes a return fare from but we can offer tickets from any location – just let us know where you would like to start out from. On arrival in Edinburgh, check in for an overnight stay at The Balmoral Hotel (or similar), located within close proximity of Edinburgh Waverley station. Depending on when you arrive, you can spend some time exploring this beautiful capital, with its fascinating history and vibrant culture. There are some stunning viewpoints to be had from the famous castle which dominates the cityscape or for the more adventurous, why not climb up to Calton Hill or Arthur’s Seat for a true panorama? Day 2 - Depart Edinburgh Aboard The Belmond Royal Scotsman

Spend a free morning exploring Edinburgh further and then after lunch, return to Waverley station for your fabulous journey aboard the Royal Scotsman. Once you have been shown to your cabin, enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea as you pass Craigendoran at the start of the West Line and continue towards Loch Lomond. After traversing Glen Falloch, with its magnificent waterfalls, the train continues north to the village of . The Royal Scotman overnights here so that you can be treated to a sumptuous evening meal and entertainment in the Observation Car before an undisturbed nights sleep in your beautifully appointed cabin.

Day 3 - , Glenfinnan And Fort William

Enjoy a light breakfast in your cabin this morning as your continues west towards the coast, passing through Fort William en route to the fishing village of Arisaig, with views of Ben Nevis. Disembark at Arisaig for a walk along the Silver Sands of Morar with views over the Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye. Lunch is served back onward as the train retraces its journey back through Fort William and on to the Glenfinnan Monument. Here, you can choose to take a tour to find out more of the area’s history or take a walk to beautiful Steall Waterfall in Glen Nevis. Dinner is served as you continue south to Bridge of Orchy.

Day 4 - Isle Of Bute And Wemyss Bay

Leaving the village of Bridge of Orchy this morning, your journey continues to the lovely Isle of Bute, rich in history and wildlife. Here, you can enjoy a guided visit to Mount Stuart, a Victorian Gothic House. Later, the Royal Scotsman returns to Wemyss Bay and a formal dinner is served in the restaurant cars en route to Kilmarnock, where you will stop for the night. Why not enjoy a traditional Scottish nightcap in the bar car this evening?

Day 5 - Arrive Edinburgh And Back To Your Uk Station

After a leisurely breakfast this morning, you will be back into Edinburgh at the end of your Royal Scotsman adventure. From here, you can make your return journey to your local station by first class rail. Alternatively, why not extend your stay in Edinburgh or stop off on your way home in the historic city of York? These prices are based on two people sharing a twin or double room and a double/twin cabin aboard the Royal Scotsman. Single supplements will apply for sole occupancy. It is based on First Class rail travel and includes seat reservations as necessary. It is based on the best fares on the trains. If you travel during a peak period, particularly at short notice, then supplements may apply.
