Guidance for Coarse fishing The Opening of Sunset Lakes in Peel. If you have symptoms of coronavirus or been told to self-isolate because you have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), you cannot leave your home, for exercise, or any other purpose. The law says you may leave your house to exercise and there are no limits on how long you can exercise however it is important to consider that the current ‘Stay Safe’ guidelines advise that where you can, stay home as much as possible. There are other restrictions in place which you must also consider, such as the closure of certain facilities and the legal requirement to avoid gathering in groups outside your household. This information is guidance, intended to help you make the right choices and stay safe. Information about how to partake in this Coarse fishing are provided below. This information and the subsequent guidelines have been prepared in conjunction with the Management of Sunset Lakes and IOM Sport. It is imperative that you follow these guidelines when partaking in the sport of Coarse fishing. The coarse fishing facility located at Ballagyr lane, Peel is open for persons only to participate in this activity You should always: Undertake this activity on your own or with other members of your household. Noting that it is an offence to exercise with people outside of your household. Avoid contact with others outside of your household Keep strict social distancing measures in place should you encounter people from outside of your household – you must remain at a safe (2m) distance. Follow strong hygiene practices at every opportunity – Washing your hands as soon as you get home, avoid touching your face and take hand sanitiser with you to use while out if possible Avoid engaging in activities where you have to share or touch equipment that others have touched, outside of your household. Take care and avoid visiting places for exercise that could be crowded e.g. popular beaches, parks Avoid undertaking this activity in a way that might put you in danger. Which in turn may put additional pressure on emergency and health services. Not use public drinking water fountains Only share car rides with people from your household Information for Individuals; - You must have permission from Sunset Lakes management/staff to partake in coarse fishing. - Sunset Lakes will have an agreed process and agree a time for you to access the fishery. - You may only fish at Sunset Lakes if you have been pre authorised to do so by Sunset Lakes management or staff. - Only one person (or people from the same household) up to a maximum of 3 persons allowed on any one fishing platform at any one time. - Only use your fishing equipment brought from home with you (with the exception of landing nets, net handles and unhooking mats that are supplied by Sunset Lakes for bio security reasons, Sunset Lakes equipment will be disinfected before and after every use) - Sterilize your own equipment before and after use - Once you have completed your session, please depart via the one way system as soon as you safely can to enable others to access the fishery safely. DO NOT: Do not fish in groups of 3 persons maximum which include people who do not live in your household Do not enter any building or any facility which is part of the club (including toilets) Do not organise any competitive angling matches. Do not turn up at Sunset Lakes fishery without prior agreement from Sunset Lakes You may drive to undertake this activity adhering strictly to the 40mph speed limit. This remains in place to protect the Hospital and Emergency Services. Each journey should still be considered as to its value and risk. You may be prosecuted if you break the speed limit. Information for Sunset Lakes Sunset Lakes must have written authority from the IOM Government to enable you to gain access to the fishery under the strict guidelines laid out in this document and then follow all guidelines It is Sunset Lakes responsibility to decide if the facility is open. Please check that your insurance is valid You must have a clear process for knowing who is fishing at your complex, make this as clear as you can for persons using your facility to understand and abide by. Do not use any facilities connected with the fishery, this includes toilet facilities, ensuring there is clear signage to state this Do not organise any competitive Angling - No Competition’s, Leagues Matches, or Tournaments to be held. Only pre authorised persons by Sunset Lakes management/staff will be allowed at your fishery. Please place a sign in clear view of all visitors of the guidelines set out above. .
