Sweden finishes top of Fair Play ranking

Gefle IF gain 2006/07 UEFA Cup place. Draw for two places on 4 June

UEFA has today announced the final results of the UEFA Fair Play competition for the 2005/06 season. The winning association is granted a place in next season’s UEFA Cup while all associations with a coefficient equal or higher than 8.0 will go into a draw for a further two places in the first qualifying round of the competition. The Swedish club, Gefle IF, have earned the right to enter the qualifying round of the 2006/2007 UEFA Cup, after Sweden finished top of the UEFA Fair Play ranking for the 2005/2006 campaign. Gefle IF are the winners of the Swedish top division Fair Play competition. There were a further ten associations who finished their season with a Fair Play coefficient of over 8.0: Finland, Belgium, Estonia, , Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Slovenia, Wales and Germany. These ten associations will now go into a draw, taking place on 4 June 2006 at half-time of the final match of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Porto (Bessa), kicking-off at 19:45 local time. The results of the draw will be available on www..com. The clubs nominated by their associations to go into the draw are as follows: ƒ Finland: IFK MARIEHAMN, runners-up in Finnish Fair Play competition to UEFA Champions League qualifiers MyPa. ƒ Belgium: KSV ROESELARE, runners-up in Belgium Fair Play competition to UEFA Champions League qualifiers RSC Anderlecht. ƒ Estonia: JK TAMMEKA TARTU, runners-up in Estonian Fair Play competition to UEFA Champions League qualifiers FC TVMK Tallinn. ƒ Latvia: FK , fourth in Latvian domestic Fair Play ranking. First, second and third placed Skonto FC, FHK Liepajas Metalurgs and FK Ventspils have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup. ƒ Netherlands: NAC BREDA, fifth in Netherlands Fair Play ranking. First, second, third and fouth placed Feyenoord, AZ Alkmar, PSV Eindhoven and Heerenveen have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup. ƒ Norway: SK BRANN, winners of Norwegian’s domestic Fair Play competition. ƒ Switzerland: FC AARAU, winners of Swiss domestic Fair Play competition. ƒ Slovenia: The Slovenian league season runs until 03rd June. Therefore they enter the draw as “REPRESENTATIVE OF SLOVENIA”. ƒ Wales: HAVERFORDWEST COUNTY AFC, third in Wales Fair Play ranking. First is already qualified for the UEFA Champions League and second did not receive a Licence to play in European Competitions. ƒ Germany: BV BORUSSIA DORTMUND, winners of German’s domestic Fair Play competition.
