Our first virtual Sunday Salon, Writing Picture Books, will ZOOM your

way on June 7th. You'll learn how to get started, industry formatting, popular topics, publishing issues, and more. Whether you are writing for your kids and grandkids, or everyone's kids, this salon will give you a solid beginning.

This Zoom Salon is hosted by Dianne Blomberg, picture book author earning royalties since 1999. Her latest, Max and the Mysterious Noise, 2019, earned a coveted review by Bookshelf Detective, "... and here’s what I love—a kid with grit and a book with girl-power!"

New DWPC member Mimi Pockross is featured in this spring's edition of Colorado Heritage, the magazine of History Colorado, with her article, How Two Colorado Women Brought a Play About an Invisible Rabbit to Broadway and Won a Pulitzer Prize. The article highlights the relationship between Mary Coyle Chase, the playwright who wrote , and , best known as the namesake for the Tony award and the original director of Harvey.

Mary Chase was a lifetime honorary member of the Denver Women’s Press Club. Her biography, Pulling Harvey Out of Her Hat: The Amazing Story of Mary Coyle Chase, written by Mimi, will be published in the fall of this year.

Four months before the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7,1941, Mildred McClellan Melville, a past DWPC president, predicted the war would come to the United States. And come it did. In Colorado Women in World War II, DWPC member Gail Beaton interweaves oral histories and historical photographs to give a rare look at how the war profoundly transformed the women of this state and how these women stepped up and served their country, from ammunition plants to hospitals to sugar beet fields.

DWPC members Bonnie McCune and Kathleen Duhamel have teamed up to create a monthly book review column for My Prime Time News, metro Denver's source for news and

Dottie Lamm, DWPC member and former first lady of Colorado, shares insight on family, friends, feminism, politics and the fine art of growing older in her latest book, Straight from the Heart.
