It’s time for the next reveal of acts playing our Main & Classic stages >>> The Main Stage is already studded with musical legends and current chart-toppers alike, with Fatboy Slim, Craig David, Clean Bandit and Steve Aoki transforming the stadium into a bumping, sun-fuelled celebration to remember. Joining the party on the Main Stage are sizzling pop starlet Charli XCX, quirky Electro festival favourites Years & Years and kicking through with anthemic indie, The Vaccines. NEWTON FAULKNER Newton Faulkner es un artista de clase mundial con mucha experiencia actuando para el público. Tras darse a conocer en 2007 se convirtió en el príncipe del pop y la guitarra. Con tan solo 22 años, el muchacho de Surrey logró alcanzar el número uno y vender un millón de copias de su álbum de debut Hand Built By Robots. InfoGibraltar Servicio de Información de Gibraltar Aviso InfoGibraltar GibMusicFest (I): De Cornellà a Birmingham, magia negra en el Peñón Gibraltar, 6 de septiembre de 2015 El último gran festival del verano abrió sus puertas, el que espera atraer a más de 25.000 espectadores. Y el Peñón, como el más privilegiado de ellos, de fondo, saluda con el Castillo Moro vestido de rojo y blanco celebrando el National Day. Ayer se celebró la primera jornada del Gibraltar Music Festival (GMF) y el podio lo ocuparon, por orden alfabético, Duran Duran, Estopa y Little Mix. Un espectáculo gigante: tres escenarios, más uno con actividades y música para niños, decenas de puestos de comidas y bebida, actividades paralelas, como lanzarse en tirolina o jugar al fútbol embutido en una burbuja gigante… La organización, casi perfecta, distribuyó a los artistas un poco por estilos, un poco por procedencia, un poco por tirón. El escenario Seaside es el más familiar, con música normalmente local. Varios grupos yanitos (Midriff y Karma 13 lo bordaron), más el ganador del último Festival de la Canción de Gibraltar, Mo Anton. Destacó aquí el toque nostálgico de Gib Floyd, una banda tributo a Pink Floyd que arrulló al numeroso público con los vientos de ‘Money’, el gran clásico de la pródiga banda londinense. Antes, en el escenario de Radio Gibraltar, James Neish había dado paso a la banda gibraltareña con mayor proyección: This Side Up. Desde su primera actuación en el GMF en 2013, han girado por el Reino Unido, han sacado disco, han actuado en la BBC y se han mudado a Manchester.

Buena música y ganas de pasarlo bien se unieron a partes iguales en un festival para todos los públicos y que, un año más, no defraudó gracias a conciertos de nivel como los ofrecidos ayer por la mítica banda sueca Europe, el incombustible Bryan Ferry y los galeses Stereophonics.
