Our PNG based swimmers under scholarship in Fort Dodge, Iowa, took part in this event. Judith Meauri swept the sprint Freestyle events, posting times of 25.79 in the 50 yard Freestyle, 58.30 in the 100 yard Freestyle and 2:05.12 in the 200 Freestyle events. While team mate Ian Nakmai finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:01.77, and the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:21.93 “Our team swam well, and both Ian and I enjoyed our first dual meet. It was a great experience” said Judith. The Iowa Central College men and women’s swim teams started the competition season with a pair of home victories over Iowa Lakes.
