EQMM’s 75th Anniversary Continues:

Special Issues

We hope readers have been enjoying our 75th-anniversary issues as much as we’ve enjoyed assembling them. So far, we’ve brought you treasured reprints from our archives by Robert Arthur, William Faulkner, Jorge Luis Borges, and Edward D. Hoch. We’ve reprinted an Ellery Queen puzzler, new to our pages. And we’ve had special issues dedicated to Sherlockiana (February), literary masters (March/April), crime fiction from around the world (May), and the Mystery Writers of America (June). Coming up are: an issue composed entirely of new work by successful writers who started in our Department of First Stories, including David Morrell, , and Steven Saylor (July, on sale 6/7); an issue honoring our past editors, featuring articles about each of them, plus a tale starring founding editor Frederic Dannay himself, an Edgar-nominated story from our archives by former EQMM editor Eleanor Sullivan (writing as by Ruth Graviros), new fiction by award-winning writers Dave Zeltserman and Scott Mackay, and several others (August, on sale 7/19); and our designated anniversary issue (September/October, on sale 8/30). This special double issue will include articles that set the scene, placing us in the fall of 1941—the season of EQMM #1—as well as bringing us into the present with new stories by National Book Award winner Joyce Carol Oates, MWA Grand Masters Marcia Muller, , and Bill Pronzini, EQMM Readers Award winners David Dean, Jeffery Deaver, and Peter Lovesey, Edgar winners Peter Robinson and Doug Allyn, multiple International Thriller Award winner Tim L. Williams, New York Times bestseller , and much more. The issue will also showcase a new cover by famed American artist and designer Milton Glaser, whose first published work was a 1954 cover of EQMM.
