AMB Mourns the Passing Away of the Two-Time World Jr. Welterweight World Champion Eddie Perkins World Boxing Association Official Site http://wbanews.com/new AMB mourns the passing away of the two-time world Jr. Welterweight world champion Eddie Perkins The WBA regrets the sensible pass away of two-time Jr. Welterweight world Champion, Eddie Perkins at the age of 75. Perkin became professional boxer in 1956 with an amateur record of 26 wins 10 loses. He won his first title in September 1962 to Duilio Loi, to whom he lost it in the same year. However, in June 1963 he defeated Roberto Cruz to regain his crown and kept it through 1965. His final record was 74-20-2, 21 KO’s. Perkins was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2006, later, in 2008, was inducted in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The WBA family regrets his passing away and sends its condolences to his relatives. Perkins was a great warrior and a sport role model representative. His last fight was with diabetes.
