  • Bloomsburg Investment Group
Bloomsburg Investment Group Equity Analysis The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) Analyst: Gerrick Hardy, Class of 2021 Trevor Luzi, Mackenzie Gross, Class of 2022 Bloomsburg Investment Group Opinion: After our group's thorough analysis, we believe it is in the best interest of the group if our holding in Procter & Gamble (PG) is partially liquidated. Although our group remains bullish about the company, we think taking some profits from PG's recent run-up and allocating funds elsewhere in the sector would be most beneficial. While the company has provided strong organic growth in each of the two previous quarters, a number of headwinds remain in the way which will likely restrict future growth. A stronger U.S. Dollar has essentially offset the organic revenue growth, and the rise in transportation costs and commodity prices has and will likely continue to squeeze the margins of PG. With consumer tastes trending towards less expensive generic brands, customers may not respond favorably to recent price increases of some of Procter & Gamble’s largest brands. Our sector believes PG is currently trading at a premium that will not be satisfied with future growth. Despite all of this, we are still bullish because of the high dividend yield that the company has increased for 62 consecutive years, wide array of brand offerings, and brand loyalty and recognition, among other factors. Considering cross-current risks that exist in the macroeconomic environment and the potential of an upcoming recession or economic downturn, Procter & Gamble will continue to provide stable growth and hedge our portfolio. Corporate Summary: Corporate Details: Name Procter & Gamble Co The Procter & Gamble Company, founded in 1837, is Ticker PG a global manufacturer and distributor of household Domicile United States goods.

Perceptions of Religion from Star Wars and Star Trek Abstract Hollywood films and eligionr have an ongoing rocky relationship, especially in the realm of science fiction. A brief comparison study of the two giants of mainstream sci-fi, Star Wars and Star Trek reveals the differing attitudes toward religion expressed in the genre. Star Trek presents an evolving perspective, from critical secular humanism to begrudging personalized faith, while Star Wars presents an ambiguous mythological foundation for mystical experience that is in more ways universal. This article is available in Journal of Religion & Film: https://digitalcommons.unomaha.edu/jrf/vol7/iss2/3 Schultes: Any Gods Out There? Science Fiction has come of age in the 21st century. From its humble beginnings, "Sci- Fi" has been used to express the desires and dreams of those generations who looked up at the stars and imagined life on other planets and space travel, those who actually saw the beginning of the space age, and those who still dare to imagine a universe with wonders beyond what we have today.

Good for you. Good for your city.’ Volunteer promotion campaign aims to boost the number of New Yorkers who volunteer by raising awareness about service opportunities Search for NYC Service volunteer opportunities by borough, skills or interest at nyc.gov/service NEW YORK—Spearheaded by NYC Service, the de Blasio administration today launched a volunteer promotion campaign—a series of targeted ads in 1,000 subway cars and 75 bus shelters—to encourage more New Yorkers across the five boroughs to volunteer. The campaign underscores the two-fold advantage of volunteering: individual benefits like increased personal health, happiness and career success; in addition to the valuable social contribution of helping those around you. This promotion campaign also highlights three areas NYC Service has determined are in high need of volunteers: • Supporting Youth Development | NYC Service recruits volunteers to provide programming that helps students navigate middle school and high school years. Working with youth-focused nonprofits, the Department of Education, and the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), NYC Service’s Middle School After School Volunteer and High School Mentor initiatives help foster academic success and life skills. • Reducing Hunger | Thousands of New Yorkers qualify but do not currently have access to food assistance programs like SNAP and WIC. In partnership with the Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, NYC Service mobilizes a volunteer corps to reach these eligible New Yorkers.

WHAT DO WE SAY NOW? AN ANALYSIS OF MASS COMMUNICATION AND ADVERTISING FOR THE PREVENTION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT by JESSE SUMMERS A THESIS Presented to the School of Journalism and Communication and the Robert D. Clark Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Arts June 2016 An Abstract of the Thesis of Jesse Summers for the degree of Bachelor of Arts in the School of Journalism and Communication to be taken June 2017 Title: What Do We Say Now? An Analysis of Mass Communication and Advertising for the Prevention of Sexual Assault Approved: ~ ~ a--r1.._ Kim Sheehan Sexual assault has become a prevalent issue in recent years. From university campuses to the White House, the issue is being discussed and addressed in many different ways. This thesis specifically discusses the It's On Us and No More campaigns as well as two pieces of popular media used to spread awareness of the issue of sexual assault. The Transtheoretical Model of Change, a social health model used to understand an individual's willingness to change their behavior, is used as a basis for analyzing the videos produced for these campaigns and categorizing them based on their potential to influence a viewer's behavior. Semiotic analysis is used to analyze specific content in each video and associate the videos with stages in the Transtheoretical Model of Change. Initial results showed that many of the current videos focus on creating awareness and are associated with the pre-contemplation or contemplation stages. However, analyzing specific links between the videos and other campaign content such as websites shows potential for viewers to move beyond the early stages of the model.

  • Take a Fantastic Voyage Into Virtual Reality by Paula Mchugh
THE TM 911 Franklin Street Weekly Newspaper Michigan City, IN 46360 Volume 22, Number 3 Thursday, January 26, 2006 Take a Fantastic Voyage into Virtual Reality by Paula McHugh The Beacher took a fantastic voyage into the halls of ivy recently. We of the dinosaur generation— meaning we received our education via blackboards and Coronet films—were to encounter a learning environment at Valparaiso University that promotes new insights for engineering and sci- ence students. It’s called the Vis Lab, short for Scientific Visualization Laboratory, and it is open to the public twice a week for tours and demonstrations. You might at first think when entering the little room in Gellerson Hall that you’ve walked into a state-of-the-art theatre. The “star” of the Vis Lab is the Vis Box, which pro- jects high resolution 3-D images upon a screen. But instead of theatre seating, the student (or visitor) stands on a plat- form directly in front of the screen, and, With a pair of polarized goggles, a student or visitor can visually explore the structure of microbes. donning a pair of polarized goggles, enters the world of Virtual Reality. Vis Lab Director Jeff Will and research assistant Mike Steffen host the regularly-scheduled public open houses for anyone who is curious to see how the advancement of computer technology has changed the world of learning in the 21st century. For a writer depen- dent upon words on a page, the experience was over- whelming. For a molecular biologist or electrical engineer formerly restricted to formulas on a chalk- board, the world of Virtual Reality translates into images that can be observed from any number of different per- spectives.
