Whether this is your first year attending the festival or it’s an annual tradition, I hope you have the chance to see some incredible, thought-provoking pieces of cinematic art over the coming days. As a lover of films, I couldn’t be happier that Nashville is home to one of the most prestigious and longest-lasting film festivals in the South. Not only is this an opportunity to showcase filmmakers from Nashville, but artists from around the country will be showing their films as well. Nashville is fortunate to be home to a growing film industry, with many actors, directors, producers, screenwriters and technical staff calling our city and region home. The Nashville Film Festival is a terrific way to highlight the achievements of this industry, which enriches our culture and brings joy and entertainment to so many. Our competition managers had very difficult decisions to make because quality is at an all time high. We hope you are happy with the final program and want to thank you for spending time with us. Film is an incredible way to experience and discover those we share the world with. At the Nashville Film Festival, we focus on the word “deal.” We are working harder than ever to create opportunities for our creatives to get deals on their films, deals for their screenplays and deals for their original music. With the recording process as a backdrop, the film intimately depicts a lifelong bond and unique creative partnership, as the band weathers marriage, divorce, parenthood, illness, and the challenges of the music business. Patti and her rap partner and best friend Jheri share dreams of fame, fortune, and escaping Dirty Jersey for good, but they haven’t found a producer with the “fire beats” they need. Unbroken by the taunts of local goons, Patti unexpectedly gravitates to a reclusive death-metal musician named Basterd Antichrist, a newcomer who just might be able to help Patti achieve hip-hop superstardom. As the citizens of Lullaby, NJ are faced with what they think is their last night on Earth, their lives will change forever. The lonely mayor, the timid housewife, the innocent schoolteacher, the worn-down reverend, the cocky entrepreneur, the cowardly sheriff and the reclusive war veteran will all be put to the test over the course of one unpredictable and explosive evening. It’s an alien invasion movie where the aliens never show up. He reluctantly flies to Nashville to be presented with what he thinks is a prestigious Award from a revered film festival. Upon arrival Vic is humiliated to discover that the low-rent event can hardly be called a film festival. It’s merely a bunch of star-struck film geeks who show movies in the back room of the bar where they all work. Enraged, Vic forces Lil, the emotionally unstable girl assigned to be his driver, to take him to Knoxville, the town where he grew up, where he embarks of on a soul searching tour of the landmarks of his youth. The Exception Directed by: David Leveaux Written by: Simon Burke Cast: Christopher Plummer | Jai Courtney | Lily James | Janet McTeer | Eddie Marsan | Ben Daniels Nation: United Kingdom, Runtime: 107 Thursday, April 27, 7:00 PM German soldier Stefan Brandt is sent on a mission to investigate exiled German Monarch Kaiser Wilhelm II. The Kaiser lives in a secluded mansion in The Netherlands, and as Germany is taking over Holland, the country’s authorities are concerned that Dutch spies may be watching the Kaiser. As Brandt begins to infiltrate the Kaiser’s life in search of clues, he finds himself drawn into an unexpected and passionate romance with Mieke, one of the Kaiser’s maids whom Brandt soon discovers is secretly Jewish.
