REGULATIONS

The sections are open to Exhibitors who are members of any of the preceding Woman’s Institutes: , Braehead, , , Crossford and Hazelbank, , , Fauldhouse, Harburn, Kaimend, Polbeth, , , or Whitburn, also any Exhibitors who are members of any of the preceding Young Farmers Clubs: Bathgate, Biggar, or , or any other Exhibitor who has been resident in the Parishes of Carluke, Carnwath, Carstairs, Covington and , Dolphinton, , Forth, Lanark, Libberton and Quothquan, , Walston and West Calder since 1st July 2020.

• One entry only per class. • All exhibits must be the BONA FIDE work of the actual Exhibitor. • Articles previously exhibited at this show are ineligible. • Exhibits must be handed in no later than 9.30am on the day of the show and may not be removed before 4pm. The tent will be closed to the public a 4pm. • Exhibits are entirely at the risk of the Exhibitors, who will be solely responsible for their delivery and removal. • Exhibitors having not less than TEN ENTRIES will receive a FREE PASS to the show.

GROUP COMPETITION The four items will have an area of 24”x24” provided, this cannot be exceeded. There will be a maximum of 20 points per item and a further 20 points for the overall appearance.

Judging commences at 10am.

TROPHIES (all trophies are competed for annually)

INDUSTRIAL • Whitecleugh Cup for most points in classes 1-14 • Wee Bush Trophy for most point in classes 15-26 • Carnwath Agricultural Society Cup for most point in classes 27-40 • Silver Cigarette Box, presented by the late Sir Erskine-Hill, Bart of Quothquan Lodge, to the Exhibitor gaining most points in the Industrial Section • The Dunsyre Shield for most points in the children’s classes • Lander Trophy – Children’s class number nine • John and Ella Aitken Rose Bowl presented to the Rural Institute with most points.

First prize will count as three points, second two points and third one point. In the event of a tie the trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor having the largest number of first prizes.

HORTICULTURAL • Stephen Mitchell Cup for Best Exhibit in Show • Special Shield for Cut Flowers presented by Carnwath Parish Church • Special Cup for Dahlias • Special Prize for Vegetables
