It’s about musicians’ hands: the part of the body of these famous musicians who actually create the tone, make the note, or play the beat. This is the last instance of the body that is performing the note you are hearing as an audience. For me this is the most important part of the musician, not in terms of creativity, but in terms of doing the music. It’s really funny because no matter what musician I ask about photographing his hand, when I tell them the concept, they immediately say, “Yes! This man understands what I am doing and what this is all about.” Because everything comes from the hands. “HANDS” BY MARC MENNIGMANN THERE’S TRUTH IN BLACK & WHITE Interviewed by Kaylene Peoples | Responses by Marc Mennigmann Photographer Marc Mennigmann from Isalon, Germany, documents in the rare medium of black and white film. He uses a Leica Mononchrom, which is not only a complex camera, but is known for its rich optics that cater to alternative mediums in photography. Mennigman chooses to spend his time capturing his subjects in their rawest form, bringing out their essence and exposing a vintage grittiness only seen in rare instances today with the explosion of digital color photography. A purist in the deepest sense, he has started a project called HANDS. Marc has spent hours photographing the hands of famous musicians around the world, and the simplicity of a black and white photograph does his subjects the most justice. What are some of the other things you do as a photographer? How did you develop your style? What were some of your 208 HANDS & COUNTING influences? THIS IS A CURRENT LIST OF The influences . this is a hard thing because I don’t care about what others do. I only see what pictures I like. I see pictures that I like, and from there I try to pinpoint what it is I like from that particular photo I am observing. And this influences my work. Markus Reuter plays his selfdesigned touch style guitar – again covering much more ground than a guitar or a bass. So Andi, do you want to start with that? ANDI: Sure. I mean, I know a lot of people know her from Batgirl. I sadly never got to see her as Batgirl and wasn't really familiar with her from that. So my first experience with her as an actress was from Whom Gods Destroy, which is a third season Star Trek the original series episode. And I think it's a really cool episode. And the main reason I like it is because of her character Marta, who is awesome, and funny, and dangerous, and just really really cool. I mean she dances, and she stabs Kirk, and she quotes Shakespeare but pretends she wrote it. I mean how do you get such a cool character all in one place like that? It was really awesome and that's one of my favorite characters they ever did.

    Im Gespräch mit Bernhard Wöstheinrich (2018) Jack Of All Trades M i t d e r T a b o T a g o - V e r öffentlichung „Kymatica“, mit dem der Musiker der elektronischen Musik der Berliner Schule huldigte, sowie seinem aktuellen Release „Elsewhere“, welches er unter eigenem Namen herausbrachte und das vom Stimmungsbild gar nicht einmal so weit entfernt von TaboTago ist, hat Bernhard Wöstheinrich 2018 schon zwei Alben auf der eigenen Agenda. Aber auch so ist der Neu-Berliner umtriebig und emsig unterwegs, wobei dieser zusammen mit Touch-Guitarero Markus Reuter und centrozoon, ein Projekt, welches sogar ein Tim Bowness stimmlich unterstützte, auch dem Prog nicht unbedingt abgeneigt ist. Wobei sein aka, der Redundant Rocker, auch nicht allzu weit entfernt wartet. Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Bernhard Wöstheinrich und dem Redundant Rocker? Der Redundant Rocker ist im Gegensatz zu Bernhard Wöstheinrich eine reine Kunstfigur. Ich habe sie erfunden, um gewissermaßen eine ganz neue Position einnehmen zu können. Der Redundant Rocker hat sich bewusst abgewendet von den ostentativ-epischen Bögen, die in meinen Solo-Veröffentlichungen und auch in der Musik meiner Band centrozoon sehr maßgeblich sind. Die Form des Redundant Rocker ist verkürzter, essentieller, komprimierter. Der Redundant Rocker spielt auf eine durchaus nicht ganz unironische Art mit den Produktions- und Ausdrucksweisen zeitgenössischer populärer und kommerzieller Musik. Hierbei sind dann auch die Erfahrungen eingeflossen, die ich damals mit dem Projekt centrozoon plus Tim Bowness und den Releases „Never trust the way you are“ und „The Scent of Crash and Burn“ gesammelt habe, bei denen wir uns als Band centrozoon ja auch sehr einer für mich damals ganz ungewohnten Form der Songs angenähert haben.
