Farragut Returns to Mobile for Mardi Gras This Mardi Gras season, Adm. David Glasgow Farragut returned to Mobile Bay through the spirit of the USS FARRAGUT and its crew. The U.S. Navy ship, a guided missile destroyer, called on the Port of Mobile on March 4 as part of a 100-year tradition in conjunction with the city’s Mardi Gras festivities. The ship stayed at the Port until Fat Tuesday on March 8.
