DEAN GUITARS It started with a vision and a dream in 1977, a youthful Dean Zelinsky began Dean Guitars in his house at a time when pros considered vintage Guitars their only choice. Flashy high quality stage Guitars was the direction of the company in the 70’s with many of the top touring bands quickly making the unique Dean V headstock a worldwide trademark. These handmade ML’s V’s Z’s and Caddy models steadily increased in value as players recognised the amazing value that they represented, Today Dean is a greatly expanded Musical Instrument company comprised of acoustics, basses, electrics, resonators, mandolins and banjos. There has been a consistent goal from Dean over the past 30 years, quality and distinction. Completely hand built and assembled in the Tampa Bay Florida facility in the USA, Dean Guitars introduces the new pickup range. These pickups are crafted in the USA using a variety of traditional building techniques and materials. Such as, ceramic or Alnico magnets, metal braiding and in the case of the Leslie West – “Mountain of Tone”, nickel covers. In many of the new models Dean Guitars has worked closely with many experienced artist in order to get to what gives that player their unique signature tone, this has resulted in a unique and comprehensive range of pickups. The moderate output of the Nostalgia makes it a favorite for those guitarists seeking classic tones with balanced tonal response. You can spot a Flathead pickup in a flash by it’s double adjustable coils. In comparison to the Nostalgia series this pickup has a warmer sound and utilizes an alnico 2 magnet like the original PAF pickups of the 50’s. Available both in neck and bridge models with a slightly higher output in the bridge position. The Time Capsule series of pickups is what Dean currently uses in their original TC series guitars. These pickups capture the biting tones of the vintage Dean instuments produced from 1977 to 1986 with very strong lows and mids creating the tone that was used to record multiple platinum albums during this era.
