Official TEST Report 2020/8/28 Twin Ring MOTEGI 2Nd Official Test Official TEST Report 2020/8/28 Twin Ring MOTEGI 2nd Official test 2020 Super Formula whose opening has been delayed under the influence by COVID-19 finally starts on Aug 29 adopting the new race format which is Qualifying and Race will be held the same day. Just before the opening, Official Test was held at Twin Ring Motegi. For the first drive in 5 months, DOCOMO TEAM DANDELION RACING prepared the test program considering Motegi’s course in midsummer. Both Yamamoto and Fukuzumi executed the program steadily. Yamamoto marked the fastest lap of 1 min 35 seconds’ first. Then, right after Fukuzumi exceeded it, Yamamoto broke Fukuzumi’s lap time. They showed that they were in shape. During each car’s time attack at the end of the session, the orders changed rapidly. Yamamoto finished in third place and Fukuzumi ended up in fifth. It was a short but fruitful test since they could collect data for the season opener. #5: Naoki Yamamoto Position 3rd overall (1st among Honda users) I drove SF machine for the first time in 5 months. Since I ‘ve been doing physical training and having a teleconference with my team frequently, I didn't feel anything uncomfortable about driving. This season, race distance is short and there is no pit stop basically, so QF position becomes more important. The base setup of my car is good, and I will prepare for the season opener tomorrow under this favorable condition. #6: Nirei Fukuzumi Position 5th overall (3rd among Honda users) My first impression was that the SF machine was fast and fun! Thanks to lots of fans, those who support us and cooperation among the relevant parties, we will enter the 2020 season tomorrow. I am so happy that we can race. Twin Ring Motegi has the race track which is hard to overtake. Without a pit stop, race strategies are limited and thus, QF will be very important. We will analyze the test results to drive faster for tomorrow. Qualifying Report 2020/8/30 Rd-1 Twin Ring MOTEGI Weather:Fine Temperature:36℃ 19cars As a preventive measure against COVID-19, 2020 Super Formula decided to hold Qualifying and Race the same day. Two-group format was introduced in Knock-out QF1. Yamamoto who was in Group A went on track on the green light. After checking tires and warming up his car, we came into the pits for new tires and waited for the right timing. Going back on track with 3 min remaining, he started to attack on the first lap unlike other drivers. Even though he was caught in the slow traffic in the last sector, he took the lead recording 1’31”895. In the end, one car exceeded that time and he moved on to QF2 in 2nd position. Fukuzumi in Group B took the same strategy as Yamamoto. Doing a check-run on the green light, he went on track in the last 4 min, and attacked on the first lap. He made it to QF2 with the fastest lap of 1’31”440. In following QF2, since the 14 cars attacked in a 7-minute session, the on-track timing was the key. As for QF1, two cars of DOCOMO TEAM DANDELION RACING took a check-lap, and with less than 3 min left, they started to attack on the first lap while two other drivers were attacking on their second lap. However, it ended up backfiring. Yamamoto and Fukuzumi came up with the two drivers, and could not quicken their pace. Fukuzumi in 9th place and Yamamoto in 14th place did not make it to QF3. #5: Naoki Yamamoto Position 14th (QF1 Grp A 2nd, QF2 14th) 4th among Honda users I had a good feeling in QF1, and went into QF2 with confidence. I am very disappointed that I couldn’t warm up my tires enough and finished in QF2 without using my full ability and my car’s. It's easy to be wise after the event, but I should have coped flexibly with the strategy for a different result. This is a future task. It will be pretty tough to start from the 14th grid in the race without a pit-stop tomorrow. I will do my best with the total team capabilities to earn as many points as possible. #6: Nirei Fukuzumi Position 9th (QF1 Grp B 1st, QF2 9th) 2nd among Honda users My car was completed when I started driving, and I was confident to finish QF in the top group. I was struggling with the tires a little, however, by choosing to attack on the first lap, I finished in the first place. In QF2, I couldn’t find a clear lap, so I couldn’t show my substantial ability. It will be a sprint-race tomorrow. I will make a good start, and compete actively for 35 laps to finish in the top group. .

MEDIA INFORMATION July 14, 2015 Japan Race Promotion Inc. July 18 (Saturday) – July 19 (Sunday) 2015 Japanese Championship SUPER FORMULA Round 3 : Fuji Speedway Japan Race Promotion Inc. (President: Hiroshi Shirai, Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) today announced details of the “2015 Japanese Championship SUPER FORMULA, Round 3 Fuji Speedway,” scheduled to take place on July 18–19 at the Fuji Speedway Circuit (length = 4.563km) in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The 2015 Japanese Championship is the only internationally accredited driver championship series in Asia, run over seven rounds and six circuits across Japan. Points accumulated by drivers during the season determine the final rankings. A total of 11 teams (entrants) and 19 drivers (cars) have entered this year’s Japanese Championship. Spectators have the chance to enjoy a domestic competition with world-class levels of racing, featuring seven top drivers from six countries (UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Brazil and India), driving cars with the same cornering speeds as the top Formula 1 racing cars. Fuji Speedway is a challenging course with a long back straight that allows drivers to reach speeds of more than 310km. The course also has high-speed corners that will test the limits of the race cars and a double apex corner in the final section that requires advanced driving technique. Drivers, cars and tires will also be affected by the high temperatures at this time of year. On what is likely to be a hot day, the course will put the concentration, stamina and mental strength of drivers to the test and make conditions tough for the turbo-charged engines, which generate much more heat than naturally aspirated engines.

PR Document 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship Series Media Information August 27 2020 1 Super Formula : Then and Now In the 1950s, the Fédération Internationale de I’Automobile (FIA) launched the Drivers’ Championship to find the world’s fastest formula car drivers the purest form of racing machine. That ethos was passed on to all FIA national member organizations.Top-level formula motor racing has been held in Japan in various forms since 1973, when Formula 2000 was first launched. The competition evolved into Formula Two in 1978 and then Formula 3000 in 1987. Japan Race Promotion, Inc. (JRP) was established in 1995 and continued carrying the competition torch in 1996 under the name of Formula Nippon. In 2013, the name of the competition was changed again to Japanese Championship Super Formula and a bold plan was implemented to upgrade the race cars and lift the profile of the competition with the clear aim of spreading the appeal of Super Formula from Japan to other parts of Asia. Another hope was to turn the series into a third great open-wheel racing competition to go along with Formula One and IndyCar. The competition’s name was changed again in 2016 to Japanese Super Formula Championship. In 2017, BS Fuji began broadcasting live Super Formula races, giving many motorsport fans the chance to watch championship races on free-to-air television. In the early days, formula racing in Japan was led by top drivers such as Kunimitsu Takahashi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Satoru Nakajima, who later competed on the global stage in Formula One.

WELCOME BACK TO BAKU Dear friends, On behalf of Baku City Circuit, please let me welcome you to the third successive Formula 1 race weekend in Azerbaijan. Last year’s race in Baku was widely recognised as the most exciting and dramatic race of the year – if not the decade – by members of the media, teams, drivers and the global F1 fanbase alike. It truly was a race that had it all culminating in the most unexpected podium line up in many years. The fact that this historic race occurred under our new event title as the FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX filled us with an even greater sense of pride and satisfaction for a job well done. This year we once again welcome the world to Baku at the slightly earlier date of late April to bear witness to the awe-inspiring sight of F1 cars negotiating one of the fastest and most testing circuits in Formula 1. Baku City Circuit’s winding, narrow sequences, 90-degree turns and high-speed straights - all set against the breath- taking backdrop of Baku’s UNESCO-protected old city, magnificent skylines and beautiful seaside promenade - have proven to be a major challenge to the current F1 grid, resulting in last year’s spectacular outcome and many on-track altercations. We are very confident of a similar explosion of drama, speed and bravery occurring once again for the 2018 edition. Furthermore, the off-track entertainment will be bigger and better than ever before with world-class music, visual and conceptual artists once again performing all along the specially constructed Fan Zone all weekend.
