Theprimaryproductoftheharvestingishighqualitylargesawlogs(quotalogs), smallhighqualitysawlogs,veneerlogs,girders,poles&pileswheretimbermarkets areavailable.Partsoffelledlogsthatdonotmeethighqualitylogspecificationsare segregatedandgradedintootherclassificationssuchassalvagesawlogs,pulp logs&miscellaneoustimberse.g.split&roundposts,firewood,miningtimbers& craftwood.Theavailabilityofmiscellaneoustimbersdependsmainlyonforest types,logdefectiveness&marketconditionsatthetimeofharvesting.

All areas of Rainforest require prior OEH approval and Stream Exclusion Zones require prior Regional Manager approval before forest harvesting related activities (eg: road or snig track construction & reopening) can be undertaken. It is the responsibility of the Contract Coordinator to identify any exclusion areas which will need to be crossed during harvesting.
