The GBHS Lady Dolphin softball team ended its summer league season by dropping a pair to Milton on July 13. Milton 7, Lady Dolphins 4 Gulf Breeze committed two errors that allowed Milton to score three runs in the fifth inning in game one of the doubleheader. Milton scored four in the second before Gulf Breeze scored two in the third. Lydia Ellington reached on an error before Megan McDonald doubled. Adrian Culpepper followed with a double to score Ellington before Marissa McDonald doubled to score Sydney Willard, who ran for Megan McDonald. GBHS pulled to within three with a pair in the fifth. Nina Ewens walked and scored on a throwing error before Willard, running for Megan McDonald, who singled, scored when Culpepper hit into a fielder’s choice. Both McDonald sisters had two hits in the loss, while Ewens, Taylor Pacyga and Coral Molina both had one hit each. Milton 9, Lady Dolphins 0 Gulf Breeze was held to just two hits in a loss to Milton.
