Class of 2016 Profile Semesters in Which Students Take Five Courses in Block Scheduling of 80 STEMM Minutes Each to Maximize Depth and Inquiry Signature Programs Intensives Each December and May, all Upper School students take an Intensive course. Each Intensive is an innovative, semester-credit, experiential course that focuses on a single discipline seven hours a day for three weeks, allowing for depth, travel and authentic engagement. Popular courses include What to Think About Machines That Think; Homelessness; Game Theory and Probability; Marine Science at the Island School in the Bahamas; Systems and Sustainability; Introduction to Filmmaking; Chinese Immersion at Heilongjiang University, China; and Spanish 4 Honors in Chile.
