you know this is the real world? For all you know, you could be strapped to some chair manifesting this world in your mind. “Dark City” takes this somewhat daunting theory to task.

Director Alex Proyas, who did “The Crow,” came up with the idea for “Dark City” through dreams he had as a kid. He has made a film that I don’t doubt is everything he wanted it DARK SHITTY to be, but is the bittersweet genius of this film. “Dark City” is flawed for a few reasons. The film’s music is too imposing and present. The opening is literally drowning in music that doesn’t belong.
