Moet Brar was at INIFD to brush up the talent of INIFD students and to teach them finer intricacies of the glamorous world of Fashion and Design. INIFD Chandigarh has organized this exclusive design workshop with Moet Brar to enable the students to seek his seasoned guidance and benefit from his expertise. This specialized workshop, students were taken through the different stages of the fashion design process and the fashion trend updates globally. He shared his immense experience from Bollywood & Hollywood and his knowledge on the various fabrics, material trends, yarns, colours, fashion forecast on embellishments, accessories, etc. Moet Brar has stylized an endless list of gorgeous style divas starting from the famous American singer Katy Perry, the stunning Deepika Padukone, dazzling Priyanka Chopra, the lovely Kalki Koechlin, the elegant Sonam Kapoor & more. Moet as a designer has also presented his designs at the India runway week Spring Summer 2015, Assam Couture Week 2015 and also is all set to showcase his Autumn Winter designs at South Africa Fashion Week, under his own label Moet Brar. Moet Brar reviewed the portfolios of the INIFD student Designers and gave his creative inputs. He had an hour long question answer session with students to satisfy their curiosities from the role of stylist - designer in fashion weeks. He guided INIFD students on working hard on styling the garments and accessorizing them to bring out the Best Look and add zing to the Final look of the collections on the ramp. Moet is associated with INIFD (Inter National Institute of Fashion Design) to guide students all across India. As a part of the visiting faculty at all the INIFD centres the famous stylist guided the students about the styling and modeling by holding various workshops all across the INIFD centres. While Bollywood remains the biggest film industry in the world, a new Indian cinema genre is rising nowadays, a cinema that tries to find its position between Bollywood, Western and parallel cinema. One of the striking things of this new Indian film genre, that I call New Indian Cinema, pays attention to the way white Western women are treated in India's contemporary society. New Indian Cinema depicts white Western women as survivors of this tough society they are living in. This representation differs from the way India's popular cinema, Bollywood cinema, has depicted the white Western women until now. From the 1950s onwards, they have been represented as immoral ‘devils’; the opposite of moral Indian women. Although Jane Dark has noticed a development in the representation of white women in Bollywood cinema, it seems that it is New Indian Cinema that contributes to the emancipation of this particular kind of film character in Indian cinema. This thesis is focused on the development of the white Western female character during the last decades. Based on the concepts of whiteness and the male gaze, three New Indian Cinema films have been analysed in order to discover how this new Indian film genre depicts Western women and if this representation contributes to the development of this character.
