The 2020 Wine Show was originally set to be the 20th anniversary for the show, but ever changing restrictions to social distancing and uncertainty over travel for judges led to the difficult decision to delay the show for a year. Sam Connew of Stargazer Wine, Tasmania, returns as Chief of Judges to lead a talented team of judges (currently being finalised) and associate judges; sadly due to travel restrictions we will not be hosting an international judge this year, but have great hopes for next year. This year again we will be judging the wines over 2 days with 3 panels, and utilising online scoring for the second year; a move with intention to decreasing the carbon footprint of our show. Entry forms continue to be online, and the vineyard register also remains paperless. Judging will be held this year at Rymill Hall in Penola, its size allowing plenty of room for social distancing. We encourage exhibitors to read the schedule closely. With all exhibits and classes having pathways to trophies and awards, there is something for everyone. We thank our sponsors for their continued support. The trophy presentation dinner will be hosted by the Mount Gambier Wine Region and will be held on Thursday 21st October. Friday the 22nd will see the anticipated Exhibitors and Public Tasting in the judging venue, Rymill Hall, where everyone can taste all wines entered in the show.
