After the wet weekend at the start of the season we have had great weather with relatively mild warm days. I hope this continues through to Xmas. We have three weekends to go with our last fixtures being on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December when we break for the holiday period. The season resumes on Friday 1st February and Saturday 2nd February 2019. We have eighteen of our players recently selected in Brisbane North Representative sides. These boys will travel to various parts of Queensland and NSW over the Xmas period. This hard cricket will improve their skills. I wish them well and know that they will be great ambassadors for their families and Albany Creek Cricket Club. Thank you for your cooperation in getting the players to their club photo night recently. All of the photos will be ready for distribution before our last weekend of cricket which is the 7th/8th December. On the field it has been a great start to the season with several teams undefeated and well on their way to Pre-Xmas premierships. We have many new players running around on Friday nights and from what I have seen, our future is in good hands with some great coaching and many promising young players coming through the ranks. Some of our younger players signed up for a half season with parents not knowing how the kids would take to cricket. If they wish to continue playing after Xmas, could you please contact our Registrar and let him know of your intentions as he would be getting ready to fill those spots with new players signing up after Xmas. I hope everyone enjoys the remainder of the season. • The Knights of Labor in Britain and Ireland
Knights Across the Atlantic The Knights of Labor in Britain and Ireland STUDIES IN labOUR HISTORY 7 Studies in Labour History ‘...a series which will undoubtedly become an important force in re-invigorating the study of Labour History.’ English Historical Review Studies in Labour History provides reassessments of broad themes along with more detailed studies arising from the latest research in the field of labour and working-class history, both in Britain and throughout the world. Most books are single-authored but there are also volumes of essays focussed on key themes and issues, usually emerging from major conferences organized by the British Society for the Study of Labour History. The series includes studies of labour organizations, including international ones, where there is a need for new research or modern reassessment. It is also its objective to extend the breadth of labour history’s gaze beyond conven- tionally organized workers, sometimes to workplace experiences in general, sometimes to industrial relations, but also to working-class lives beyond the immediate realm of work in households and communities. • Sport and the Victorian City
Sport and the Victorian City: The development of commercialised spectator sport, Bradford 1836-1908 David Pendleton A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements of De Montfort University for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy 2015 Abstract This study is a history of popular spectator sport in the city of Bradford between the years 1836 and 1908. Its major aim is to chart and analyse the experience of Bradford in relation to the national development of sport in the modern city and how spectator sport, in particular, helped shape personal and civic identities in a bourgeoning industrial community. This project builds on a growing body of work on the development of sport and leisure in British towns and cities during the nineteenth century. Furthermore, it will both complement earlier studies on sport in Bradford and West Yorkshire and add to our understanding of how urban sporting and leisure cultures were forged through a combination of national trends and local economic and social peculiarities. The emergence of a national sporting culture ran parallel with an exponential acceleration in urbanisation, the adoption of the factory system, regularised working hours and growth in disposable income. Bradford’s sporting culture, however, was also a product of the city’s shifting social structures, which had been shaped by its unique economy. As a consequence, Bradford also played a significant role in determining the national sporting culture as well as reflecting wider trends. !i Bradford’s move from an essentially pre-industrial sporting landscape towards a recognisably modern one took place over a period of little more than fifty years.

U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration REGISTER A Daily Summary of Motor Carrier Applications and of Decisions and Notices Issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration DECISIONS AND NOTICES RELEASED May 6, 2019 -- 10:30 AM NOTICE Please note the timeframe required to revoke a motor carrier's operating authority for failing to have sufficient levels of insurance on file is a 33 day process. The process will only allow a carrier to hold operating authority without insurance reflected on our Licensing and Insurance database for up to three (3) days. Revocation decisions will be tied to our enforcement program which will focus on the operations of uninsured carriers. This process will further ensure that the public is adequately protected in case of a motor carrier crash. Accordingly, we are adopting the following procedure for revocation of authority; 1) The first notice will go out three (3) days after FMCSA receives notification from the insurance company that the carrier's policy will be cancelled in 30 days. This notification informs the carrier that it must provide evidence that it is in full compliance with FMCSA's insurance regulations within 30 days. 2) If the carrier has not complied with FMCSA's insurance requirements after 30 days, a final decision revoking the operating authority will be issued.
