Activities 2017 In the year 2017-18 Nupur took part in a number of events as well as competitions. In the initial part of the session, Nupur performed in HT City Freshers’ Programme which included a classical performance followed by a folk performance. Nupur then organised a workshop with Ms. Richa Jain, a beautiful Kathak dancer on 15 September. All the students interested in college were allowed to attend the workshop. Nupur took part in a number of inter college competitions and got second as well as third position. In the Solo Indian Classical Dance Competition Sneha Shaji of first year performed in colleges like Sri Venkateswara, SGTB Khalsa, Hansraj College, etc., and bagged the second position in three colleges that are Mata Sundri College, Deshbandhu College and Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi. The folk Group performed Bihu, the folk dance of Assam. They performed in colleges like SGND Khalsa, Jesus and Mary. Nupur secured the third position in the group folk dance category in Deshbandhu college. The folk group of Nupur performed Bihu in the Delhi Youth Festival at Connaught place on 26 February and recieved a cash prize of 1,10,000. In Ullas’18, Nupur had two categories, the Solo Classical Dance Competition in which Unni Vishwanath of Hansraj college bagged the first position followed by Nimisha Devi of JDMC and Raghav Monga of Sri Venkateswara College. In the folk Dance competition, Gargi college,Sri Venkateswara and Maitreyi College bagged the first second and third position respectively. The event ended with a Bihu performance by Nupur.
