How to get here Lochwinnoch and Howwood lie close to the A737 which links the M8 with Irvine. Both villages have railway stations on the Glasgow Central to Ayrshire line – why not bring your bike by train? (If coming from Glasgow or Paisley get off at Howwood as the Lochwinnoch southbound platform has lots of steps!) On National Cycle Route 7 (NCR7). The Semple Trail @Lochwinnoch is the place to find fresh air, great walks, water sports, and wildlife, as well as traditional pubs, craft and gift shops, all within one destination. Traffic free smooth paths link Lochwinnoch railway station with the village, the visitor attractions, NCR7 WC and the historic landscape features of the former Castle Semple Estate. It is now so easy for bikes, buggies and wheelchairs to get around! Come for the day and:- • At the RSPB nature reserve, borrow binoculars to watch wildlife from the centre and hides or go wildlife pond dipping and bug hunting. WC • At Castle Semple Visitor Centre hire a rowing boat and get out on the Loch, or hire bikes of all shapes and sizes and enjoy the traffic free routes around the Country Park. • See the historic features of the landscape, explore © Crown copyright and database right 2010. Some sections of path pass through farmland so please take care if you encounter livestock or farm vehicles..
