Vale Magazine 3 Women and science are writ large this month. Mother’s Day is on the 22nd and International Women’s Day on March 8 (the male equivalent is on November 19). British Science Week takes place between the 6th and 15th. Of course March marks other highs not overtly LYNNE on the distaff side: St David’s Day on the 1st, St POWELL Patrick’s Day on the 17th and a rather wonderful Editor sounding National Old Day on the 2nd. That last one is actually turfing it out, rather than celebrating it, and trying something new. Tick! Unsurprisingly, our On the Spot subject this month holds firmly on to the past, as Carmel Langridge is the Chair of the Vale of Evesham Historical Society. But she’s always eager to try something new too. You can also read all about Rob Hemming’s take on the value of money, Alan Coxon’s verdict on the bread world cup, what makes our readers hopping mad and lots, lots more. Meanwhile, in this month of women and science, it’s fitting to note the passing of the amazing ‘human computer’ Katherine Johnson, who died at the end of February, aged 101. She was one of NASA’s ace group of mathematicians whose data fuelled NASA's first successful space missions... and she shined brightly despite the fact that the agency was also still largely segregated. Inspirational. And, finally, a careful high five to ex US Marine George Hood who has recently broken the Full Suites • Furniture • Enclosures & Trays world record for staying in the low plank position for an abstonishing 8hrs 15mins and 15secs. Makes me wobble just thinking about it. welcome

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

“A big thank you to Pete and the PKC team for our beautiful new kitchen... we gave them a brief and the rest is history!! A seamless design, build and fitting experience with no fuss or hassle. I would recommend these guys to anyone. Thank you.”

MR & MRS BROWN - BICKMARSH

“I’m not a salesman, I’ve no interest in taking your money just to supply you with any old kitchen. If you want a quality job, that’s hassle free and an enjoyable experience, then give me a call!”

Your kitchen will be one of the biggest investments you will make in your home, and these days it’s not just somewhere to prepare food - it’s a place to socialise, relax and live life. TPKC is not a faceless High Street store. Pete runs the business with his four children and between them they can provide the full service. As well as designs and budgeting, they will provide solutions to electrics, plumbing, flooring and even full project management, if that’s what you wish or need. At TPKC the choice is always yours! Pop into the Blackminster Showroom and after the initial consultation (a friendly chat really) Pete will listen to your ideas and will then provide his own take on what could be achieved. He will then carry out a survey and create at least two layouts for your consideration - all fully costed to help you make the right decision. You’ll be surprised what can be done. The Children of the Universe A Book of Disclosure and Survival by Jane A. Williams L.C.P.Hom (Pershore Author)

The extra-terrestrial programme for this planet is well underway. Whilst people are sleepwalking into a well articulated plan for human extinction ignorant of the methods being used against them, this book outlines the programme in its many varied forms and exposes the Satanic Black Magick Law that controls our planet by our demonic alien overlords.

Presented in four parts, the author describes how humanity has been hijacked and mind controlled, exposing critical information previously withheld from the general public. Purchase your copy today - ONLY £25 email: [email protected] tel: 07593 798 239

Perhaps the star of the Kidderminster STONECHAT Sandlands is the Woodlark. Several arrived and stayed to breed on Burlish Top for a few NEED NEW DOMESTIC & COMMERCIAL WINDOWS?
