Held at Park last Saturday afternoon through to Sunday morning, teams walked, ran and even stilt walked laps of the oval, raising funds for cancer research. Committee chairperson Gillian Loughman thanked all involved in the event. “A huge thank you to everyone who came along to this year’s event. “It was another successful year that would not have been possible without the support from each and every one of you.” Market stalls, free activities, live entertainment, raffles, prizes, massages (for the weary) all contributed in making the event a community get together and creating a carnival like atmosphere. DjHS had a team in the relay called the Clown Doctors (judged Best Tent), and Gaby’s Army received an award for Best Baton. Foodworks supermarket also had a team in the relay as did Invictus Fitness and many others. (more pictures page 8)

ByIn Jessica court Howard Hope Lives Here from page 1 A collection of Moorabool Shire residents received over $3000 worth of combined fines last Fri- day morning, after being caught behind the wheel with a suspend- ed license. ••• The six disqualified drivers ap- peared in separate cases at the Bacchus Marsh Magistrate Court, where they each pleaded guilty. While no convictions were put in place, Magistrate Michelle Hodg- son called for each defendant to pay a fine varying from $300 to $1000. ••• A 34-year-old woman was placed on a 12-month good be- haviour bond without conviction, after she stole and crashed a trac- tor. The defendant and her friend found the unlocked tractor at St Anne’s Winery on July 4, and took it on a joyride along Greendale/ Myrniong road before crash- ing into a tree. Although no one was harmed, the tractor received significant damage; in which the defendant was imposed with a $300 fine. ••• Meanwhile, two drug related incidents were heard before the court, including the possession of 82 grams of cannabis, and up to 12 grams of methamphetamine. 27 bags of cotton buds laced with ice were found in a 28-year-old woman’s home, however both cases have been adjourned for a contest mention on October 23.
