    FEMA Recovery Efforts Continue on the Island with Funding Obligations for 155 Projects Release Date: April 21, 2020 GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA and the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience, or COR3, have obligated nearly $20.8 million in funds for 155 projects related to the recovery and reconstruction of Puerto Rico due to Hurricane María. These funds were obligated between April 10 and April 16 and represent the largest number of projects obligated in a given week this year. “Our commitment to the island’s recovery is not only evident in the unprecedent number of projects we are obligating each week, but in our staff’s dedication to the mission during the ongoing situation. We are determined to continue working to help rebuild a stronger, more resilient island, one project a time,” said Alex Amparo, Federal Disaster Recovery Coordinator for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. As the island continues to safeguard its residents with social distancing and self- quarantine measures, FEMA and COR3 remain focused on prioritizing obligations of funds to municipalities for eligible expenses to help communities recover. To date, over $6.6 billion has been approved for Puerto Rico under FEMA's Public Assistance program. The latest grants obligated are as follows: Nearly $7.6 million for repairs to parks and recreational facilities. Nearly $7.3 million for repairs to roads and bridges. Over $3.1 million for repairs to public buildings and equipment. C. del S. 297 14 de septiembre de 2018 Presentada por el señor Nazario Quiñones Referida a la Comisión de Desarrollo de la Región Sur Central RESOLUCIÓN CONJUNTA Para ordenarle a la Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados de Puerto Rico (AAA) efectuar un análisis de costos dentro de su presupuesto para construir el acueducto rural del Noroeste de Ponce; y evaluar las alternativas de fondos estatales y federales disponibles para estos propósitos. EXPOSICIÓN DE MOTIVOS La construcción del acueducto rural del Noroeste de Ponce ha sido objeto de discusión pública por años. Según los reportajes más recientes, la construcción de este acueducto tiene un costo de aproximadamente 30 millones de dólares. El proyecto se detuvo luego de dos años de intensa lucha en defensa de fondos federales que se perdieron tras la quiebra del Banco Gubernamental de Fomento (BGF), en el año 2014. Ante esto, al presente la Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados de Puerto Rico (AAA) y el Municipio de Ponce están uniendo esfuerzos para allegar fondos y se construya el acueducto. De materializarse este proyecto, se beneficiarían diversas comunidades, entre ellas Tibes, Montes Llanos, Monte Verde, Pastillo, La Cuchilla y los vecinos de las carreteras PR-123, PR-504 y PR-505. De igual manera, la capacidad del sistema de 2 bombeo de Guaraguao mejoraría, el cual sirve a los sectores Corral Viejo y Santas Pascuas. Algunos de estos sectores se suplen de sistemas comunitarios y, mediante este proyecto, podrían conectarse al sistema de la AAA.

C. del S. 297 14 de septiembre de 2018 Presentado por el señor Nazario Quiñones Referido a la Comisión de Desarrollo de la Región Sur Central RESOLUCIÓN Para ordenarle a la Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados de Puerto Rico (AAA) a efectuar todos los esfuerzos que sean necesarios para evaluar las alternativas de fondos estatales y federales disponibles y efectuar un análisis de costos dentro de su presupuesto para construir el acueducto rural del Noroeste de Ponce. EXPOSICIÓN DE MOTIVOS La construcción del acueducto rural del Noroeste de Ponce ha sido objeto de discusión pública por años. Según los reportajes más recientes, la construcción de este acueducto tiene un costo de aproximadamente 30 millones de dólares. El proyecto se detuvo luego de dos años de intensa lucha en defensa de fondos federales que se perdieron tras la quiebra del Banco Gubernamental de Fomento (BGF), en el año 2014. Ante esto, al presente la Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados de Puerto Rico (AAA) y el Municipio de Ponce están uniendo esfuerzos para allegar fondos y se construya el acueducto. De materializarse este proyecto, se beneficiarían diversas comunidades, entre ellas Tibes, Montes Llanos, Monte Verde, Pastillo, La Cuchilla y los vecinos de las carreteras PR-123, PR-504 y PR-505. De igual manera, la capacidad del sistema de bombeo de Guaraguao mejoraría, el cual sirve a los sectores Corral Viejo y Santas 2 Pascuas. Algunos de estos sectores se suplen de sistemas comunitarios y, mediante este proyecto, podrían conectarse al sistema de la AAA.
