We provide you Good/Better/Best recommendations so you can play the best clubs that fit within your budget. A Clubfix Fitting Just Makes Sense You want to play better golf and you need equipment that will help you achieve that goal. A Clubfix fitting enables you to make a completely informed club-buying decision to ensure your clubs and your swing are matched for peak performance. It just makes sense to know you’re playing the best new technology out of all leading brands that are set up precisely to optimize performance for your unique swing. Prices to Buy New Golf Clubs The Clubfix sells current golf clubs from all leading brands at the same price points as other retailers, including warehouse stores (Minimum Advertised Pricing or MAP pricing). Every club purchased from The Clubfix, whether a standard manufacturer’s club or a custom made club, is fully tested in our Anaheim club-making workshop to ensure it is set to the precise specifications defined in your fitting. Manufacturer clubs can have significant variances from their standard (lofts, lie angles, etc.) and these variances impact performance for you on the course. Our club craftsmen will test each club and make any necessary adjustments before shipping you the club. However, some specifications, such as shaft frequencies, can only be precise on custom built golf clubs. Our Unique Commitment on any Purchased Golf Club At the end of your club fitting session, your club fitter will detail Good/Better/Best club recommendations with you, review the swing data for each and the cost for each custom shaft alternative. It is the golfer’s choice as to what level of customization is desired for their budget. All pricing for custom-made clubs includes the work of our expert club makers to install the shaft and grips and to precisely configure each club to the specifications defined in your fitting. Additionally, any clubs that we build we guarantee that they will perform or we will do whatever is necessary to make it right. Custom Club Fitting For Better Scoring, Greater Enjoyment Of The Game The mid-handicap golfers (5-20 handicap) we see at The Clubfix have generally mastered the basics of a solid all-around game. However, they are far from satisfied—they are motivated to continued improvement and to working toward a single digit handicap. A Clubfix custom club fitting gives them the best opportunity to achieve that goal and to a greater enjoyment of the game. Mid-handicap golfers make consistent ball contact, but will have a few poorly hit shots each round that cost them. When we evaluate the configuration of their clubs during a fitting, we often find significant discrepancies that can explain some of these mis-hits or why one or two clubs don’t perform as consistently as the others in the bag. While a professional or low handicap player may use club-fitting to shave a half-stroke a round off of their scores, we very often see mid-handicaps drop 3-5 strokes or more off of their average scores after a club fitting. They tell us that having properly configured clubs for their unique swing dynamics delivers the following benefits: Improved Consistency After a fitting, each club delivers better and more consistent results on the course. Each club also performs more consistently in relation to the other clubs, which removes uncomfortable yardage gaps. The improved consistency means more good shots, fewer costly errors, and improved scores. More Distance & Better Accuracy Mid-handicap golfers benefit significantly from the improved distance and accuracy delivered by club- fitting. There are fewer balls in the rough, bunkers and hazards, more greens become reachable, approaches to greens are made with lower irons—all contribute to significantly lower scores. Well struck shots deliver better results and even slight mis-hits have better outcomes. The data obtained from a Clubfix fitting—swing speed, ball speed, ball spin rate, launch angle, and others—enable our club fitters to get the most distance and best accuracy out of each golfer’s unique swing characteristics. Take Advantage of Technology The rapid improvement in club and shaft technologies has transformed the game for mid-handicap players. The consistency, distance and accuracy delivered by clubs properly tuned to your swing is magnified by taking advantage of new technologies. The Clubfix offers the latest technology from all leading club and shaft manufacturers, and a club fitting will identify for each golfer the best technology that optimizes results for their unique. A Custom Fit Driver to Shoot Lower Scores Every golfer wants more distance and accuracy with their driver. The Clubfix goal is to help you find the perfect driver for your swing and increase your confidence off the tee. The Clubfix uses the latest diagnostic equipment, launch monitors, and computer technology to measure a player’s swing speed, ball speed, launch angle, trajectory, spin rate, length of carry, angle of descent and overall roll distance. Based on the golfer’s unique launch characteristics, the ideal club-head, shaft, and ball combination will be recommended. The driver is undoubtedly one of the most important scoring clubs in your bag. If you drive it farther and hit more fairways, you will be in position to score better on almost every hole. It makes sense for every golfer, regardless of ability, to have a driver that is configured to match their unique swing characteristics. Take the Guessing Out Of Buying A New Driver The Clubfix offers the most current technology in drivers from all major club manufacturers—Taylor Made, Callaway, Titleist, Ping, Cobra, and others—and we let the data define the club, shaft and configuration that deliver the best results for your swing. We are completely brand-neutral, so you know you’re getting the best fit driver on the market before you make the investment and before you have to live with it on the course. We provide you Good/Better/Best recommendations so you can select the best driver for your game that fits in your budget, whether a stock manufacturer’s club or custom fit with an upgraded shaft. In either case, we’ll carefully inspect your driver before delivery and make any adjustments needed to configure it to the exact specs your fitting defined as best for your swing. Women Golfers Women golfers at every skill level have essentially the same issues, and achieve the same results, as men when it comes to custom fitting clubs for their unique swing characteristics. Their goals are also the same—greater consistency, more distance, better accuracy and lower scores. A Clubfix custom club fitting for women follows our proven data-driven process. Because each manufacturer offers a more limited selection of clubs designed for women golfers, a Clubfix fitting can be particularly valuable. Clubfix offers ladies clubs from all major club and shaft manufacturers, so our fitting process will identify the best clubs and shafts for your swing out of a much larger selection pool. Our extensive club fitting experience for women golfers tells us that most ladies use clubs with shafts that are too soft for their swing speed, resulting in less consistent contact and more shots off-target. Women are benefiting greatly from the new technology of lightweight yet stable graphite shafts. These shafts allow for greater swing speeds and the resulting increased distance without sacrificing accuracy. Skilled women golfers with higher swing speeds take advantage of the same technology improvements as their male counterparts. Custom club fitting for women carefully matches club head and shaft specifications to your unique swing dynamics. Each club is hand made in our high-tech workshop to the most exacting standards in the industry, giving you complete confidence that every club fit at The Clubfix will optimize your on-course performance. Custom Fit Irons Are Essential For Shooting Lower Scores A set of irons that delivers consistent results top-to-bottom, is properly distance-spaced, and gives the player confidence for any approach shot is a key for playing your best golf. A custom iron fitting from The Clubfix ensures that every iron is precisely matched to your unique swing characteristics. The first step in an iron fitting is to capture complete specs on your current irons—length, shaft stiffness, loft, lie angles, and swing weight.

  • Elmhurst Golf Club
Elmhurst Golf Club According to World Book, more than 26 million Americans play golf every year. There are 16, 000 golf courses in the United States, and 70 courses in DuPage County. Golf had an early beginning in Elmhurst. A nine-hole course, known as The Elmhurst Golf Club, opened in 1900. The 70-acre course reached from Grace Avenue west to Quarry Road (later renamed West Ave.), and from Elm Park Avenue north to Alexander Boulevard. The clubhouse, designed by Prairie style architect Walter Burley Griffin, was a gathering place for people of all ages to play golf, eat, play cards, or enjoy the view from the broad porch. The course was a popular social center with a full calendar of dinners, luncheons, dances, parties, and 4th of July fireworks. An invitation to a 1923 dance referred to "Elmhurst The Chummy Golf Club." The clubhouse had sleeping accommodations for non-resident members who wished to spend the night on golfing weekends. According to a membership application, the course had sufficient hazards, natural and artificial, to make the course one of the most interesting and sporty in the vicinity." An early score card, dated 1901, lists each of the nine holes, its name, distance, and bogey. For example, Hole Three, known as The Sandpits, was 328 yards long and bogey was five strokes. In 1905 the annual membership fee was $25.00. In 1919, however, there was an additional $2.50 charged for a War Tax. By 1924 Elmhurst was expanding, and land for residential construction was in demand. So a new, eighteen-hole golf course was laid out in Addison.
