Big Ben presenta STRADE BLU – Folk e dintorni Giovedì 31 Luglio 2014 – ore 21.30 in Piazza Nenni/Molinella STEVE EARLE Unplugged Solo Tour Un atteso ritorno per gli amanti di folk, country e blues: a cinque anni di distanza dalla sua ultima apparizione in Italia, il songwriter americano Steve Earle torna in veste acustica. Steve Earle trascorre l’infanzia in Texas e già da ragazzino comincia a suonare la chitarra e a comporre canzoni. Nel 1974 si trasferisce a Nashville, dove incontra i principali musicisti attivi sulla scena della città, come i leggendari cantautori Townes Van Zandt (che diventa suo mentore, oltre che suo amico) e Guy Clarke. L’influenza di questi artisti è evidente su Earle, che nel 1986 pubblica il suo album d’esordio, Guitar Town, caratterizzato da sonorità western e folk. Al disco ha fatto seguito una quantità di pubblicazioni sorprendenti per la varietà, dall’hard rock mordente di Copperhead Road (1988), alla bellezza minimalista di Train A Comin (1995), fino al capolavoro Jerusalem, connotato da una forte componente politica, e agli album The Revolution Starts Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007) e Townes (2009), vincitori di un Grammy Award. Nel 2011 pubblica l’album I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive, che è anche il titolo del suo primo romanzo. Il suo più recente album è The Low Highway, pubblicato nell’aprile 2013.
