We have now completed a year and a half and three six month cycles of programming. If you are new to the theatre, Welcome! If you are returning, we hope you have enjoyed the shows as much as we have enjoyed seeing so many full houses with such enthusiastic fans. When we set out to restore this theatre, we believed it would be a major economic catalyst for the block and our downtown community. Anecdotally, we have heard that restaurant business is booming on show dates, and we hope other downtown businesses are benefitting as well. We also knew that the theatre would serve as presentation or gathering space for a number of our local institutions. Peoples Bank has hosted their Christmas party here, Marietta Memorial Hospital presented “Memorial’s Got Talent”, McDonald’s put together the “Dancing with the Docs” benefit show, and Marietta College has participated in numerous activities. Many businesses have helped the theatre with a sponsorship, membership, or playbill ad. Sponsorships are a great way to support the theatre and provide some fun for employees, clients, or family. With a sponsorship, we can often provide meet & greet with the artists, private parties, or gatherings before or after the show. Sponsorships put your name in the public eye as an average of 7,500 to 10,000 people attend our major shows in a six month season. Many more are exposed to our web site, digital media, posters, and brochures. Ticket sales, concessions and theatre rentals cover approximately two thirds of our annual operating budget, so we encourage you or your business to consider a sponsorship, membership or other means of support to sustain the many wonderful performances and artistic activities that happen here at Peoples Bank Theatre. Again, we are always looking at ways to improve your experience and consider it an honor to be a part of historic downtown Marietta’s business and arts communities. Enjoy the Show! R. Hunt Brawley, J.D., Executive Director Hippodrome/Colony Historical Theatre Association TRAVIS TRITT Friday, JUNE 16 at 8:00PM $58 / $68 / $78 Peoples Bank Theatre opens its Summer-Fall Season with the return of Travis Tritt, whose solo acoustic performance was part of the theatre’s grand reopening in January 2016. This time, Tritt returns with his full band, just after celebrating his 25th Anniversary with the Grand Ole Opry. More than 25 years after Tritt launched his music career, the Grammy award-winning artist continues to sell-out shows across the globe. A Marietta, Georgia native, Travis Tritt is dubbed one of “The Class of ‘89,” which included Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson; all of whom dominated the charts in the early 1990s. Among his eleven studio albums and numerous charted singles are nineteen Top 10 hits, including “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Here’s A Quarter” and “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive.” Over the course of his career, he has amassed more than 25 million career album sales, two Grammy award wins and multiple No. 1 singles on the Country radio charts. Most recently, Tritt released a special live 2-disc CD and DVD, titled “A Man and His Guitar – Live From The Franklin Theatre.” Sponsored by HIPP STAGE PRODUCTIONS SUMMER STOCK CABARET June 23, 24 and 30 at 8 p.m. | June 25, July 1, and July 2 at 2 p.m. All Tickets $20 Welcome to the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where the Emcee, Sally Bowles and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd — and to leave their troubles outside. But as life in pre-World War II Germany grows more and more uncertain, will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through their dangerous times? Sponsored by SHAKESPEARE BY THE RIVER: THE MERCHANT OF VENICE Join us for the fourth annual Shakespeare By The River Festival, presenting The Merchant of Venice in Muskingum Park this June and July. The Merchant of Venice, written between 1596 and 1598, is Shakespeare’s comedy centred around love, money, prejudice and social injustice. As always, this exciting open-air theatrical event is FREE. HIPP STAGE PRODUCTIONS & MARIETTA COLLEGE THEATRE DEPARTMENT PRESENT THE MERCHANT OF VENICE by William Shakespeare June 29, July 1, 2, 7, 8 & 9 at 8:30 p.m. STEVE EARLE & THE DUKES WITH SPECIAL GUEST: THE MASTERSONS Saturday, July 22 at 8:00PM $35 / $45 / $55 Steve Earle is often described as “the working man’s songwriter,” inhabiting the space between outlaw country and heartland rock-and- roll. From biting hard rock to minimalist beauty to politically charged masterpieces, Earle’s catalogue bursts with 16 exciting, varied releases including Copperhead Road, Train A Comin’, Jerusalem, the Grammy Award-winning The Revolution Starts Now, Washington Square Serenade & Townes, and his 2015 release, Terraplane, his first ever Blues album, which peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Blues Chart & outsold every release since Copperhead Road. He’s notched 9 Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 country standard/pub-rock anthem ‘Copperhead Road’, 10 Top 10 albums & has 3 platinum-selling albums. Sponsored by RONNIE MILSAP Friday, August 11 at 8:00PM $39 / $49 / $59 Ronnie Milsap ranks as the pre-eminent country soul singer of his generation. Over the course of his career, Milsap has compiled 40 number-one Country hits. His sales have earned him eight gold albums, and his Greatest Hits release made him one of the first artists in any genre to obtain double-platinum status. Steeped in the mountain music of the North Carolina hills and schooled in classical piano, Milsap’s early in life found inspiration in a wide variety of music. Even as he mastered Beethoven and Mozart, his heart belonged to hardcore country and rhythm-and-blues — music he heard beamed from powerful radio stations located in Nashville. Those earthy sounds about life and love provided a young, impoverished blind boy with a connection to a world beyond the harsh reality of his daily existence.
