The Indian Premier League (IPL) is an Indian professional league for men's Twenty20 cricket clubs with double round- robin and playoffs. Without any Twenty20 cricket league system, it is India's primary Twenty20 cricket club competition. Currently contested by eight clubs, it does not operates on a system of promotion and relegation. Only Indian clubs are qualify to play in the Premier League. Seasons run in the Indian summer spanning between April and June, with most games are played in the afternoons. The competition was formed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2008 after an altercation between the BCCI and the now-defunct Indian Cricket League.[1] The Premier League is headquartered in Mumbai,Maharashtra,[2][3] and is currently supervised by BCCI Vice-President Ranjib Biswal, who serves as the League's Chairman and Commissioner.[4] The Premier League is the most-watched Twenty20 cricket league in the world. It is generally considered to be the highest- profile showcase in the world for Twenty20 club cricket, the shortest form of professional cricket with just 20overs per innings. IPL is as well known for its commercial success and for the quality of Twenty20 cricket played. Indian Premier League (IPL) is a Twenty20 cricket tournament where different franchise teams participate for the title. The tournament started in 2008 and from then it usually takes place every year in the months of April – June. The recent was the IPL-7 held this year (2014). It is currently supervised by BCCI Vice-President Ranjib Biswal, who serves as the League's chairman and Commissioner.[1] Sundar Raman has been the IPL chief operating officer (COO) since its first season, after he was appointed by former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi in 2008.[2] IPL is the most-watched Twenty20 cricket league in the world and also known for its commercial success. IPL Brand Valuation Report IPL Brand Valuation Report - 2018 FOREWORD Dear Readers, Welcome to the latest edition of the Duff & Phelps Indian Premier League (IPL) Brand Valuation Report. The 2018 edition of the IPL set a relatively different tone as compared to its previous editions. We witnessed a new broadcasting partner for IPL in Star India, which acquired the next five years’ global broadcast and digital rights for approximately US$ 2.55 billion. It was heartening for us to see that the broadcast rights deal was very close to what we had predicted in our last report. The Star broadcasting rights deal put IPL on par with some of the biggest sporting leagues in the world (on a fee per match basis). Varun Gupta IPL continued to hit all the right notes this season. A huge amount of data is gathered and mined every year which could lead us to some interesting and hidden facts about factors which are responsible for a team to win the IPL trophy.Although the current form of athletes and team combinations play a key role in helping any team emerge victorious in IPL, this research analyzed a new parameter “Total Distance travelled by teams” and its effect on the Number of Home and Away wins.Methods: For five IPL seasons from 2015 to 2019 data was obtained regarding the miles every team clocked and their number of home and away wins.Conclusion:This study has shown that inter-state travel by IPL teams during group stages of the tournament had adverse effects on their Total Number of Home and Away wins. KUMARAPANDIYAN AND S. KEERTHIVARMAN Abstract. Cricket is an immensely popular sport around the world. Every day forms of cricketing ethnicity were invisible in every walk of real life and were well represented through diverse forms of media in the wake of the world cup. Analysis of cricket players based on their performance is always a complicated task because of the interrelated character of the variables used to enumerate contributions to the team. Lack of precision of current methods, due to viable confidentiality, creates a necessity for new and transparent evaluative methods. In this paper, the performance of players in the recent international matches, domestic competitions around the globe is discussed and predicting the top performers during IPL 2020 that can be easily adapted to other team sports. 1. Introduction 1.1. CRICKET. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a cricket field, at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard- long pitch with a wicket (a set of three wooden stumps) at each end. One team bats, attempting to score as many runs as possible, while their opponent field. Each phase of play is called an innings. After either ten batsmen have been dismissed or a fixed number of overs have been completed, the innings ends and the two teams then swap over roles. -
