This marks the first time that Eastern Michigan University has hosted the tournament 3 at Arizona L, 7-8 4 at Arizona W, 7-5 since its inception in 1981. The Eagles entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will take 15 at #13 Coastal Carolina L, 2-5 on No. 2 seed Kent State in semi-final action after defeating No. 3 seed Central Michigan, 12- 17 at #13 Coastal Carolina (DH) L, 3-12 6, in quarterfinal action (May 24) and No. 6 seed Toledo, 6-5, in the first round (May 23). EMU L, 7-10 enters the game with a 31-22 overall mark. Kent State concluded the regular season with a 24 at Bowling Green* (DH) W, 10-2 29-24 overall mark and won the East Division title. The Golden Flashes enter the game with a W, 11-8 25 at Bowling Green* W, 7-3 31-24 record after defeating No. 5 seed Northern Illinois, 7-3, in round one (May 23) and No. 4 30 at Buffalo* W, 5-3 seed Miami in the quarterfinals (May 24). The last time EMU and KSU met in tournament play 31 at Buffalo* (DH) L, 2-1 was last season with the Golden Flashes winning 2-1. Kent State leads the all-time series W, 8-1 against Eastern 40-37.
