This catalog has been prepared to introduce you to Campbell University. Through it, you will learn of the talented and friendly student body, high-quality faculty, excellent academic programs, beautiful campus and facilities, and many friends who support the mission of Campbell and contribute to the fulfillment of its purpose. As you read about Campbell, we want you to gain a perspective of what it would be like to live and study at one of the finest universities in the eastern United States. Selecting a quality university should include certain criteria: A school where the individual counts: Campbell University is a friendly campus where small classes encourage closer relationships among students and faculty. The individual student is very important to fellow students, faculty, and the administrative staff. Meaningfulprograms: With a tradition of academic excellence, Campbell readily introduces new programs which reflect changes in the professional and vocational developments of our nation and world. Intramural and intercollegiate athletics com- bine with academics to make Campbell an exciting place to study and play. A pleasant social and cultural environment: Campbell is a coeducational, church-related university located in central North Carolina. Students are enrolled from all counties, with most states along the Atlantic Seaboard represented in the student body. Students from more than forty-five foreign countries regularly attend Campbell. The distribution of male and female students is almost equal. The climate in Buies Creek is mild with the opportunity for outdoor sports throughout the year. Other than for "Directory Information," Campbell University will release information only with the student's written consent and will use "Directory Information" in the best interests of the student. Academic Facilities Academic facilities at Campbell University are designated primarily for use in the education of Campbell University students; other uses, although quite worthy in themselves, and of benefit to the community, will not be allowed to interfere with that primary function. Campbell University (1999/2002) Introduction Application of this Bulletin The Application of This Bulletin To Campbell University Students: All students on all campuses who matriculate after August 1 , 1 999 will be governed by the provisions of this (i.e., 1999-2002) Bulletin; normally, students will graduate under the provisions of the Bulletin in force at the time of their initial registration and advisement so long as the student is continuously enrolled in a Campbell program. (Usually, this document is revised and reprinted on a two-year cycle.) A student readmitted after an interruption of more than two years in his/her course of study at the University may, at the discretion of the appropriate academic dean, be required to fulfill the graduation requirements in the Bulletin in effect at the time of readmission. The University reserves the right to change any of its regulations, charges, rules, and courses without notice and to make such changes applicable thenceforth, not only to new students, but also to students already registered. All undergraduate students at Campbell University are subject to the provisions of the student honor code. All students are responsible for being completely familiar with the provisions thereof; ignorance of those regulations does not constitute a defense against a charge of violation of the honor code. Introduction Campbell University (1999/2002) vi Frequently Asked Questions Finding the Answers to Important Questions 1. How do I apply for admission to Campbell? A step-by-step guide to the application process is described on page 55. You may apply on-line at www.campbell.edu or You may call the admissions office at 1-800-334-4111. 2. I'm a transfer student. What courses will Campbell accept? While Campbell evaluates each transcript individually, you will want to read the guidelines for transfer students on page 56. For more specific informations, call the admissions office at 1-800-334-41 11. 3. 1 have some AP and CLEP credits. Does Campbell accept those? Campbell does accept AP and CLEP credits — with certain restrictions. Please see pages 41-42. 4. I'm interested in a particular major or field of study. How can Ifind out what Campbell offers in that area? Campbell offers a wide range of majors. Each major is listed alphabetically, beginning on page 93. This list includes the requirements for each major and the classes offered in that subject area. 5. I'm in the U.S. Army and want to attend one of Campbell's extended campuses. How do I apply? Please read pages 40, 42, 55-59, 89 for a description of special opportunities Campbell offers active duty personnel. You should contact Campbell's Veterans' Affairs Office at 1-800-334-41 1 1 as soon as possible. If you are enlisted, but would like to pursue a commission, you should consider Campbell's ROTC program. The program is described on pages 245-246. 6. I'm a military dependent. Could I take classes at one of Campbell's campuses located on a military base? Yes. Please read pages 40 and 89 for more information.. 7. / took some college courses at another school, met my spouse at that school, got married, raised two children, and now work outside the home. I want to finish my degree, but I wouldn 't be the typical 18 or 19 year-old college student. Could I take a few courses at night? Yes, many "non-traditional" students attend Campbell. Hundreds have completed their degrees and entered new career fields. Please read pages 37-43, 89 for more information. Campbell University (1999/2002) Introduction Frequently Asked Questions vii 8. What are the requirements for an undergraduate degree at Campbell? The General College Curriculum is a carefully selected group of courses required for all undergraduate degrees. The GCC is described beginning on page 28. 9. How do I know which English (history, math, religion, science, etc.) courses I should take? The General College Curriculum describes the specific courses required for all undergraduate degrees. The GCC is described beginning on page 28. If your under- graduate degree programs (B.A., B.S., B.S.W., and B.B.A.) requires a particular GCC course, that requirement is noted in the GCC or described in the requirements for your major. 10. What is C.E.P.? How many semesters ofC.E.P. do I needfor my degree? Campbell's Cultural Enrichment Program is designed to stimulate spiritual growth and commitment, to offer quality programs to enhance the cultural and educational atmosphere of the campus, and to facilitate communication within the University. Most undergraduates are required to complete one, two, three, or four semesters of C.E.P. The specific requirements are listed on page 30. 11. What courses are requiredfor my major and/or minor? Beginning on page 93, you will find a list of "Academic Programs and Courses." This list should refer you to one or more pages describing the courses required for your major. In addition, several departments publish very detailed curriculum guides. Please see the chairman of your major department for further information. 12. What is a semester (credit) hour? This term is used to describe the amount of academic credit assigned to a course. While many classes have a value of three academic credits, some specialized courses (labs, activity courses, internships, publications, etc..) range from one-half semester hour to six-semester hours. Please see page 38 for more information. 13. How many semester (credit) hours should I take each semester? The number of semester (credit) hours you take in a particular semester depends on many factors, including the difficulty of the courses, work schedule, previous aca- demic performance, practice schedule, labs, etc..

    CAMPBELL MEN’S BASKETBALL 2017-18 MEDIA GUIDE CHRIS CLEMONS 2017-18 BIG SOUTH PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR CAMPBELL UNIVERSITY On Jan. 5, 1887, James Archibald Campbell, a 26-year-old Baptist minister, welcomed 16 students to a small church day of classes for the school he founded: Buies Creek Academy. By the end of the Since then, Buies Creek Academy has evolved to become Campbell Junior College (1926), Campbell College (1961), and Campbell University (1979). Throughout these transformations, the university has remained true to its founding principles to address the most pressing needs of North Carolina and to educate men and women for Christian service around the world. A testament to how these founding principles still guide Campbell University today is the establishment of three new schools in the last few years. Campbell launched the School of Osteopathic medical school in over 35 years — in 2013. In 2016, it opened the doors to programs in nursing and engineering. They join Campbell’s other established schools — College of Arts & Sciences, the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law (1976), the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business (1983), the School of Education (1985), the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (1985) and the Divinity School (1996). In addition to its main campus in Buies Creek, Campbell University has extended campuses at Camp Lejeune Fort Bragg/Pope Air Force Base, Online and Raleigh, where the law school relocated in 2009. Today, Campbell University enrolls nearly 6,500 students, including more than 4,500 undergraduate and graduate students on its main campus. They’re studying across nearly 150 disciplines in the liberal arts, health sciences and professions — and continuing the university’s tradition of excellence in faith, learning, and service.

In August of 1976, the charter class of 97 law students was admitted. In August of 1995, slightly over one hundred first-year law students commenced their legal studies as the twentieth entering class since the founding of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. The law school has enjoyed two decades of excellence and success in legal education since Campbell's visionary university president, Dr. Norman Adrian Wiggins, conceived of the idea of a new and different approach to legal education. In recognition of his pioneering efforts and leadership, the Campbell University Board of Trustees named the law school in his honor.
