Internationalen Schwimmfestival powered by arena“ Spitzenbesetzung beim ISF. 3 Olympia-Gewinner und 13 Olympia-Teilnehmer am Start. Beim diesjährigen „Internationalen Schwimmfestival powered by arena“ (kurz: ISF), welches vom 17.-19. Oktober 2008 in der Schwimmhalle Ost in Aachen statt findet, haben sich viele internationale Topschwimmer angekündigt. Ganz besonders darf sich die veranstaltende Aachener Schwimmvereinigung 06 e.V. über den Besuch der drei Goldgewinner aus Peking mit der 4x100m-Freistilstaffel der Niederlande, Inge Dekker, Marleen Veldhuis und Ranomi Kromowidjojo, freuen. Aus Deutschland gehen Daniela Samulski (SG Essen), Deutsche Rekordhalterin über 100m Schmetterling, sowie Steffen Deibler (SC Hamburg), derzeit Deutschlands schnellster Schwimmer mit Rekorden über 50 und 100m Freistil, an den Start. Außerdem besuchen 8 weitere Olympioniken aus BeNeLux das ISF. Aus dem Bezirk Aachen werden vor allem Jan Nigl und Vera Niemeyer von der ASV06 sowie Stephanie Czayka und Jens Böven (VfR Übach- Palenebrg) mit um den Einzug ins Finale kämpfen. Außerdem ist der für die SG Dortmund startende Aachener Philipp Cool bei dem Schwimmfestival seines alten Vereins dabei und wird über die Brust- und Lagenstrecken an den Start gehen. „Das ISF powered by arena ist eine Veranstaltung, die in Deutschland ihresgleichen sucht. Die Sportler wissen das schnelle Wettkampfbecken zu schätzen. Und durch Lichteffekte und fetzige Musik werden die Finalläufe für die Zuschauer zu einem Erlebnis“ ist sich Bernd Zimmermann, Pressewart der veranstaltenden ASV06, über die Qualität der Veranstaltung sicher.
