We have selected our top athletes who have been able to pass our strict national limits for qualification. We are glad to see that our young talented swimmers are making great steps towards the international podium. At the European Games in Baku and EYOF in Tbilisi this summer they have presented themselves with good results. This progress continues, it is good that this young generation now completes our selection. This Dutch elite of swimmers is ready for the competition with many other top athletes from over the world. We are proud of our track record related to the European and World Championship in the past years. In 2013 in Herning the team won 2 gold and 4 bronze medals. And at the World Championships short course in Doha (Quatar) last year the Dutch won a total of 12 medals, 5 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze. The team took the 3rd place in the overall medall ranking. Our athletes dream of new medals but for sure there will be strong competition! Of course they are coached by our professional and enthousiastic staff. We are looking forward to visit Netanya and the sportcomplex The Wingate Institute about which we have heard a lot of good things from our friend and colleague Noam Zwi. We are absolutely sure that the organization, with the warm support of the city and national government, has already done a great job: we will feel at home in Netanya! I am looking forward to an exciting competition: from the preliminaries to the finals! Good luck for all! You will also find the standings of the first three places in all events for men and women at the Olympic Games followed by several classifications which are listed either by the number of titles or medals by swimmer or National Federation. It should be noted that these standings only have an historical aim but no sport signification because the comparison between the achievements of swimmers of different generations is always unfair for several reasons: 1. The period of time. The Olympic Games were not organised in 1916, 1940 and 1944 2. The evolution of the programme.
