He spent three years as head coach at Austin Peay, orchestrating one of the most incredible turnarounds in college football history. In his second year, the Governors went 8-4 (8-1 vs. FCS foes) after going 1-45 over the previous four years. ** Healy hired an entire new staff for the 49ers. Of his 10 hires, he worked with six during his coaching career at APSU and as an assistant at UT-Chattanooga. A seventh, QB coach Mark Carney, was his QB coach during his playing days at Richmond. His 37 stops in run defense were the second-most in the country and his 13.2 run-stop pct. was third-best. ** According to PFF, Highsmith was the second-highest graded edge defender (behind ODU’s Oshane Ximines).
