2021 Georgia 4-H State Horse Show Official Rule Book June 8-12, 2021 Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter - Perry, GA 1 Updated March 25, 2021 To: 4-H Horse Project Members, Parents, Agents and Leaders Subject: Georgia 4-H State Horse Show On behalf of Georgia 4-H and the University of Georgia Animal & Dairy Science Department, we would personally like to thank you for your continued support of the Georgia 4-H Program. After having to cancel the 2020 show, we are very excited to convene in Perry for our traditional week in June! Thank you to the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter for their special accommodations for Georgia 4-Her’s and the use of the new Perdue Arena across from Sutherland Arena! Moving horses and stalling to Barn 2 will reduce our walking miles and allow us to “float” between arenas to help and watch our youth excel! Please keep in mind that this rulebook provides our “tentative plan”. Due to the changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to monitor health and safety conditions on an ongoing basis. Our goal is to confirm the decision to conduct the State Horse Show on or before April 7, 2021. If it is not deemed safe to do so at that time by UGA following the guidance of the CDC and state health officials, then we will cancel the State Horse Show. If we are unable to host the 2021 Georgia 4-H State Horse Show, all county checks will be returned to the county office. Please keep in mind that health and safety protocols, such as social distancing, using face coverings and other personal protective equipment, and staggering schedules may be required at the time of the State Horse Show.

  • 2020 Western Dressage Equipment Guide
USEF/WDAA Attire and Equipment Guide The purpose of this USEF/WDAA Attire and Equipment Guide is to provide an explanation for and additional information about the appointments (attire and tack) allowed under the USEF Western Dressage Division. In the case of conflicting verbiage, the current online USEF Rule Book will supersede this document. A USEF-licensed competition that offers Western Dressage tests/classes must use either a USEF-licensed Category 2 Steward or an inspector designated by show management and under the direction of the C2 Steward. Tack and bits on both sides of the horse of a minimum of one-third of the horses in each class/test must be inspected. At Federation-licensed competitions, except USEF Competition Lite competitions, the C2 Steward or the person who is under the direction of the Steward and appointed by the competition management will be responsible for overseeing the checking of the horse, tack, and attire. A horse must be eliminated from the test just completed if the horse or any tack and/or attire are in violation of the rules and/or the tongue has been tied. C2 Stewards or Equipment Inspectors are only required to inspect bits and other appointments on a minimum of one-third of the horses in a class. See further information in this document for proper equipment check procedures. Horses with illegal equipment in the warm-up ring will be eliminated from the next class they are entering unless the equipment can be corrected before the scheduled ride time for that entry. At a non-USEF WDAA competition or a USEF Competition Lite, a designated individual must assume the responsibility of overseeing the checking of horses, tack, bits, and attire.

  • ASHLA - Guidelines for Judges & Competitors
ASHLA - Guidelines for Judges & Competitors The ASHLA class/event is depicted as a stockhorse ridden by a Lady. Scoring: Rider’s Ability 25 points Horse’s Ability, Manners & Paces 25 points Dress, Gear & General Presentation 25 points Horse – Type & Conformation 25 points Novice Status: (Seniors Only) Must not have won an ASHLA class or ASHLA Novice Award at any Capital City Royals, Canberra Royal or ASH National Show on day of judging. This award can only be won once in a rider’s lifetime. Count Back: In the event of a tie in any placing in an ASHLA event, the Riders Ability section to be used as a countback and if needed, followed by Horse’s Ability, Manners & Paces section, Dress, Equipment & General Presentation section then Type & Conformation section. Rules and Guidelines can be found on the ASHLA judging sheet which is recommended to be used for the ASHLA event. The Rider Points are awarded to the rider for her riding ability. Her style and control over her mount and her ability to execute the prescribed pattern. Though a harmonised combination of horse and rider is the ultimate aim, often a difficult horse will be ridden extremely well, this rider is therefore demonstrating a high level of ability and should score accordingly. Alternatively a very well seasoned horse foot perfect of his workout could be ridden by an unbalanced, sloppy or less attractive rider and therefore the score should reflect that. The Horse Ability A well trained, obedient horse will obviously score the highest points. Bad behaviour, resistance, malice or giving the rider a difficult or unpleasant ride will surely affect the horse’s score.
