SPEAKER : Now Question Hour, Shri Anto Antony (Q. 381) SHRI ANTO ANTONY : Madam, farmers are getting meagre amount as compensation compared to the huge loss incurred by them due to crop failure in natural calamities. A farmer may not be able to recover from this huge loss in his lifetime and he will always be in debt trap and financial crisis. This is a major reason behind the alarming number of farmers committing suicide in the country. Therefore, I would like to know from the hon. My constituency is bordering with thick forest. The holy shrine Sabarimalai is in my constituency. Every year, a lot of deaths occurred due to snake bites. There is a statistics which says that more than 50,000 die every year due to snake bites.
