Q. How will the relocation of Stop 2A affect customers?

A. Customers transferring between Stop 2A and the O-Train will follow a new pedestrian route that takes about 5 minutes, which is approximately 3 minutes more than today. The pedestrian route will be signed, clearly marked, accessible, well-lit and monitored by security cameras so that customers can safely get to their bus or train transfer. Customers should plan enough time for this transfer and follow the directional signage on site.

Q. Will the pedestrian pathway between Stop 2A and the O-Train platforms at Bayview Station be easy, accessible and safe to navigate?

A. Yes, the new pedestrian pathway will be signed, clearly marked, accessible, well-lit and monitored by security cameras so that customers can safely get to their bus or train transfer.

Q. Why is Bayview Station Stop 2A being relocated?

A. Bayview Station Transitway Stop 2A is being moved to accommodate the construction of a transit-oriented development (TOD) south of Albert Street to be connected to the future Bayview O-Train Station. This work will result in the closure of the pathway on the south side of Albert Street, which is located on the developer’s land and connects between the existing O-Train Trillium Line platform and eastbound Stop 2A. The developer requires use of the land in order to proceed with construction of the TOD development.

Q. What kind of development is being built beside Bayview Station? How will it be beneficial for transit service in our city?

A. Trinity Development Group is building Trinity Station, a transit-oriented development that will consist of three 50-storey buildings with a mix of residential, retail and office use at the southwest corner of Albert Street & City Centre Avenue. When built, Trinity Station will enhance the surrounding area by providing a modern transit-oriented development that will integrate and connect with the future Bayview Station and promote the use of transit.

Q. Why is the bus stop (#2304) west of Bayview Road being removed?

A. Bus stop (#2304), west of Bayview Road, for eastbound Routes 16 and 95 will be removed as it will be close to the new location of Stop 2A, which will be across the street. Customers using those routes can use the new stop 2A.

Q. When will the new stop configuration at Bayview Station be implemented?

A. The new stop configuration at Bayview Station will begin on Friday, September 15, and will remain in place until the O-Train opens and the Transitway detour is removed in 2018.

Q. Will service at Bayview Station Transitway Stop 1A (westbound platform) be affected?

A. No, there will not be any changes to westbound Bayview Station Transitway Stop 1A. Customers will continue to use the existing pathways to get to/from the O-Train platforms as they do today.

Q. How is OC Transpo informing customers about the changes to Stop 2A?

A. OC Transpo will be communicating these changes to customers in advance through a variety of channels, including octranspo.com, social media and onsite signage. OC Transpo outreach staff will also be at Bayview Station leading up to, during and after the changes in order to provide information and direct customers. OC Transpo will also be reaching out to post-secondary institutions and school boards so that they can share this information with their students.

Q. When will the changes be updated on the Next Stop Announcement System?

A. The changes will be updated on the Next Stop Announcement System in mid- October.

Q. Which routes will the new Stop 2A serve?

A. Stop 2A will continue to serve the same routes as it does today. This includes Routes 16, 61, 62, 63, 64, 80, 86, 87, 91, 94, 95, 97, 98, 105, 164, 252, 256, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265, 267, 268, 269, 270, 271, 272, 273, 277, 282 and 283.

Q. Will the new Stop 2A have shelters?

A. Yes, there will be two shelters at the new Stop 2A, which is the same as what is currently provided at the existing location.
