The New Plymouth Roller Sports Club is a proactive club catering to all skating codes as interest demands. The club have their own twin-rink facility, the only one in New Zealand. They are situated on the coast near the coastal walkway with panoramic views across the ocean. The club is very successful and have many skaters who have represented their club, region and New Zealand in different skating codes. Coaches, volunteers and administrators have received various awards for excellence from local and national sporting bodies. The club caters for all ages, both genders and offers coaching, learn to skate, social and a school team programme. The club is active year-round and operates with a dedicated base of volunteers. The New Plymouth Roller Sports Club is one of the oldest rollersports clubs in the country (incorporated in 1954), and has adapted to introduce new sporting codes as these have become popular.
