THOU SHALT Obey the holy trinity The best things come in threes. We serve you up all you need to know to get up to the minute STUDS Studs are everywhere we look at the moment and quite honest- ly, we adore them! They enhance any look and instantly bring out the inner rock chick in even the sweetest, cutesy floral dress. From heels to bags and blazers to jewellery, we all need studs in our life. Whether you’rereally rebellious or just want to inject some attitude into your look, there is something out there to cater for every need. They are this season’s fieriest look and the best bit is, they are all over the high-street so whatever your budget you can look great in them. What better way to know your bang on trend than to look at the recent runways. The autumn/ winter 2013 collections have already been debuted and the big names are all bringing back an element of punk. Studs made a brief appearance last winter but this year they are back with a vengeance, everyone from Burberry to Chris- tian Louboutin are backing the punk theme and everyone should have at least one key piece to introduce into their wardrobes asap.

L-R: SAINT LAURENT, DRIES VAN NOTEN, ERDEM, ALBERTA FERRETTI METALLICS Metalllics are such a versatile wardrobe essential. They can be incorporated into any look whether it’s a casu- al day look with some silver pumps or turned into night- wear with a shimmering blazer or even metallic jeans. As all metallics are neutral you can team them up with pret- ty much any other colour so all you need are a few key pieces and you can create an array of different looks. Every designer included metallic in their autumn/winter 2013 col- lections and like studs its set to be a hot trend in the up and coming months. The good thing about this look is its not particularly season- al so can also look great in the summer as well as the colder seasons. Again its everywhere on the high street so you don’t have to have a particularly high budget, although you do have to be careful with silver and gold as they do come with the danger of looking cheap.

L-R: GILES, MARC JACOBS, MARY KATRANTZOU, LOUIS VUITTON MONOCHROME

Black and white have always been a match made in heaven, it’s very difficult to get it terribly wrong although it has been known to happen. Monochrome has always had a bad reputation of being too safe but there are ways to jazz it up. If you take a pattern like stripes it can in- ject some style and show your adventurous side. Also a key tern for spring/summer 2013 is patterned trousers so bee on the lookout for some monochrome patterned tailored trousers and you can’t go wrong. Again it’s an incredibly versatile style and if you do want to add some colour it will literally go with anything. Add- ing a neon colour like lime green can work really well and re- ally add a great touch, team up the monochrome look with a green clutch, heels and accessories and you are on for a winner.

Word on the street is that there are no rules. Fashion enthusiasts are using street style as the starting point for their latest sartorial choices. They are an editor’s sweetheart, a designer’s muse. Street style is about an expression of self, which is why many choose it to demonstrate themselves through their own quintessential style. It often contains clashing prints, blocked colours, animal motifs and a mixture of wearable classics, with the eccentrics. Accessories are where to show off. Heavy brick bags, heels and boots come in all man- ner of personalities. Make sure yours stands out.
