These factors include, without limitation, (i) JR East’s ability to successfully maintain or increase current passenger levels on railway services, (ii) JR East’s ability to improve the profitability of railway and other operations, (iii) JR East’s ability to expand non-transportation operations, and (iv) general changes in economic conditions and laws, regulations, and government policies in Japan. 4 JR EAST 2020 VISION 5 JR EAST 2020 VISION—OUTLINE BACKGROUND TO PREPARATION OF THE VISION LONG-TERM VISION For fiscal 2009, the year ending March 31, 2009, the achievement of most of the numerical JR East 2020 Vision targets set out in the New Frontier 2008 medium-term management plan (from fiscal 2006) had come within sight. With more than 20 years having passed since the restructuring of the Japanese National Railways and having accomplished the initial goal of full privatization, it was necessary to depict a new long-term vision. Due to the railway-centered nature of JR East’s business and the resulting length of time required for projects, JR East prepared a management plan based on a long-term perspective that looks 10 or 15 years ahead.

He entered a sento he happened upon while walking around Tokyo, and instantly fell in love with it. He was completely captivated by the conversation of regulars, warm waters, high ceiling, and the big mural of Mt. Fuji. Today, he not only visits various sento but also serves as a guide at events for foreign nationals and tourists held by the Tokyo Sento Association.     27th Issue - Second Quarter of 2014 Trend from April 1, 2014 to July 1, 2014 Land Price Research Division Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism August 2014 Survey Outline 1. Survey objective To clarify those land value trends of intensively used districts in major cities on a quarterly basis, which tend to indicate property market trends leadingly. 2. Matters to be surveyed Licensed Real Property Appraisers (LRPAs) collect information on the real property markets of the surveyed districts, and estimate land value trends by using real property appraisal methods. The results are to be aggregated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The survey results also include a summary of interviews with several real estate experts at real estate firms and financial institutions in each district. 3. Surveyed districts Those districts in three major metropolitan areas (Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya areas) and other major cities, land price trends of which are particularly important in the real property market. A total of 150 districts, including 65 districts in Tokyo area, 39 districts in Osaka area, 14 districts in Nagoya area, and 32 districts in other major cities, are surveyed.
