I read on Facebook that Miss Amy has cancelled the Dog Show. I do hope that you will prepare a little something for Achievement Days, which will happen, but it may be virtual. I also enjoyed the video’s that Amy shared on Facebook. Dog Maybe you all might decided to share a little snippet of what you have done with your Dog with everyone.

to good home. Monica found these cuties a couple of weeks ago. Momma just didn’t want them. They are wormed and are using the litter box. The best we can figure is that they are about 4-5 weeks old. They are starting to eat semi-solid foods and will be ready in about 2 weeks. June 12, 2020. They have quite the personalities and we hope that they can find a home as a pair.

Achievement Days will be held—more than likely they will be virtual. This is why the Y620 Project Record is very important. Sewing 1 The form on Missouri 4-H Scrapbooking Best part is it is a fillable form.

Switzerland - Today I finished the Switzerland international food Rosti. It was very good, and I wouldn't change much about it. At the beginning I thought it would be like the hash browns you get at a Diner, and I was fairly accurate. I made three, but the third one did not look appealing, but tasted good. I would definitely would make this again, but maybe with a side of eggs next time.

Columbia - Papas Chorreadas - sorry for the wait, we couldn't get the materials until Satur- day evening. So, we made it for Sunday's dinner. It was pretty good, and smelled great. It gave the potatoes a lot of flavor and aroma. when we were making it, my mom said it tasted like cream cheese. In the beginning I burnt it just a bit because the medium temperature was just a bit too high. All in all, I would make it again.

Korea - Corn Cheese -Sorry for the late time and date, but I thought this was the one that was due tomorrow. I will try to get the pineapple recipe done tomorrow, but it depends on if my mom gets the pineapple. The corn itself was strange. It doesn't sound, or look very good but it is. I'd give it a 7.75/10. The textures were awkward but were pretty good. I don't know how to explain how this tasted but it was pretty good.

Indonesia – Pineapple Rolls - First things first, the cake didn't turn out right. we put it in for an additional 5 minutes because just the 20 it was still mushy and slushy. when we took it out again it was solid and unrollable, but the cake tasted ok. The pineapple jam triggers my sensitive front teeth, so it's more for the rest of my family. all in all, I’d rate a 7/10

Australia - Damper - Here is the bread. It ended up dense because I melted the butter first because rubbing the butter didn't seem to do anything. That made the air pockets that would be there if I just continued rubbing the butter not exist at all. Also, it was done and completely firm but it didn't look like it. It was pretty good, and went well with honey.

These dishes were prepared/photographed and reported on by Stetson Mahin. Recipes were in the May Newsletter. I really wish that we could have held meetings as this was a fun Spin Club to take part in.

What is it? It’s our annual raffle, a giant raffle for 104 guns. Two guns per week will be given away in this fund-raising raffle. That’s right, 2 drawings per week. One raffle ticket is good for all 104 drawings and comes in a beautiful calendar depicting Missouri 4-H Shooting Sports members and leaders. Sell the raffle ticket and give away the calendar.

How much? Each raffle/calendar sells for $50. Yes, that’s a lot of money, but…if you do the math, it’s only 48¢ per chance to win. Each raffle ticket purchased has 104 chances to win. REMEMBER, you aren’t buying a calendar –you are buying 104 raffle chances.

How many? The goal is to sell a total of 5,000 calendars. 4-H has committed to selling 4,300 of them. That is less than 1 calendar per 4-H shooting sports member.

How does it work? For the first time ever, we are offering these raffle tickets for sale online. All sales will be through 4-HOnline. If you do not have a 4-HOnline account, contact a local 4-H club member or volunteer to make your purchase. The 4-H member will gather required information (see example entry form below) and the money for each calendar. They will then enter the information into 4-HOnline. Purchaser information will be entered into the drawing system and calendars will be distributed hopefully before August 1st. Drawing winners will be notified via phone, email, or USPS. A portion of each sale will be returned to the selling members county program. When? Calendars ready now! We want to complete sales as soon as we can. Online sales run from April 15th through June 30th. The calendar you receive is for August 2020 –July 2021.

Orders for Calendars are now being accepted.

Each Missouri 4-H member or volunteer can order up to 50 calendars, but they must be prepaid and the information below will need to be entered for each calendar sold. All sales will be paid by credit card. There will be no refunds available.

4-H Center for Youth Development 1110 South Col- lege Avenue Columbia, MO 65211-3410 PHONE: 573-882-9359 FAX: 573-884-4225 E-MAIL: [email protected] WEB: 4h.missouri.edu Suggestions for Safely Phasing in a Return to 4-H Activities (05/27/20)

COVID-19 has certainly changed our world and our 4-H programs across the state. 4-H educators and volunteers have made great efforts to find creative and safe ways to keep our youth engaged in 4-H learning. As we look ahead, we must keep in mind that there is no “one size fits all” timeline or method to reopen our state or our 4-H programs. Each county will need to look to local indicators and needs to determine when and how to return to conducting any 4-H program or activity.

While the considerations below are aimed at shooting sports activities they can be a very good guide for use in planning and con- ducting any 4-H/Extension activity or meeting.

Factors to Consider:

• Federal, state, and county government guidelines • University of Missouri Decisions & Guidelines relative to when & how to reopen 4-H programs located at, https://extensiondata.missouri.edu/ExtensionWay/Docs/covid19/ReturnToWorkGuidelines.pdf • Observe guidelines set by our administration regarding group size. Which administration? If you mean MU, it’s redun- dant with the point above. • As you plan your return to project meetings, the Missouri and National 4-H Shooting Sports Committees are reminding you and your shooting sports volunteers to review and follow National 4-H Shooting Sports Minimum Standards & Best Management Practices found at the following location, https://national4hshootingsports.files.wordpress.com/2020/01/national-4h-ss-minimum- standardsbest-practices-1.19.pdf Please pay particular attention to Minimum Standard #11: o 11. All 4-H Shooting Sports functions (events, meetings, club practices, etc.) which include the handling or use of firearms or archery equipment requires the physical presence and constant supervision of at least one adult 4-H Shooting Sports instructor who is currently certified in that respective discipline(s) (adopted 4/2018) • Practice social distancing (6 ft.); hand washing, sanitizing; face coverings. • In addition to limits established for gatherings, limit numbers of participants to the number that can maintain recom- mended social distancing in the space / range / meeting area where you are conducting the activity. • Consider not providing food. If participants need snacks they should bring their own. • Encourage participants to bring their own beverages. If water needs to be provided, don’t use common touch items (i.e. water cooler), use individual bottles and volunteers should use gloves to distribute. • To manage the numbers of participants present, use sign up times for practice times. This will allow for management of numbers to allow physical distancing. • Rearrange firing points to allow for six feet of distance between members. For Airgun, smallbore, and, archery, a sug gested two firing points between participants would be sufficient. activities such as Trap would satisfy the requirement. The squad of five shooters would need to maintain the 6 feet of distance. • Monitor participants for any health concerns (guidelines for attending- ie. Fever, cough, exposure). • Establish and share in advance your guidelines for youth participants as well as parents attending. • Wear a non-medical cloth mask (and encourage participants to do the same?) if conducting programs for beginning par ticipants who may require closeup instruction/supervision by instructors. Non-flammable masks are recommended for use in the muzzleloader discipline. • At the conclusion of the practice session, sanitize all shooting surfaces, tables, etc. Be sure to have shooters wash their hands with soap and water before and after the activity. For complete CDC Guidelines, please see the following website address; https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019- ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cleaning-disinfection.html

• It may be helpful in your decision- making process to review the following guidelines from CDC relative to communi- ty, schools-childcare, camps: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019- ncov/community/schools-childcare/Camps- Decision-Tree.pdf?deliveryName=USCDC_1191- DM28630

• Programs may wish to continue to limit everyone’s potential exposure to the virus by offering alternative learning experiences through at home activities that do not involve handling of firearms or archery equipment. STEM activi- ties are available and can be found on the National 4-H Shooting Sports website. Additional areas of focus might be: Citizenship; Leadership; Community Service; History of Firearms / Archery. • As we all look at ways to continue involvement of youth in our programs, virtual platforms certainly can play a part, but we must follow our Minimum Standards & Best Practices. Hearing what others are doing helps us all learn! Please share your ideas.

• Equipment: • Sanitize any shared equipment and meeting spaces on a regular basis. • Shared equipment should be wiped with a sanitizing agent such as alcohol between sharing. o Bows, arrows, tabs & arm guards o Firearm stocks, forearms, triggers and bolts o Take precautions to prevent damage to surfaces when using sanitizing agents.

Q: What do we do if there is a positive case of COVID-19 of someone that attended a 4-H/Extension meeting/event? Are we responsible to do anything?

A: • Once aware of the situation, the volunteer or employee that becomes aware needs to notify the local health department where the event took place. Be prepared to share as complete of participant list as possible – only share this infor- mation with the health department officials.

• DO NOT attempt to notify any of the participants – unless/until asked by the local health department or MU Exten- sion. • DO NOT share the identity of COVID-19 positive individual with anyone except the county health officials (HIPPA compliance regulations) or MU Administration if asked. • The Volunteer or employee that becomes aware of the COVID-19 infection, notify the extension employee or supervi sor in the MU system so they can make MU administration aware.
