Victory and podiums finishes in Sydney At the fourth round of the Australian GT Championship, Christopher Mies and Ryan Millier produced the best performance in an Audi R8 LMS ultra. At the Sydney Motorsport Park, the duo fielded by Audi customer team Jamec PEM Racing headed an Audi one-two finish. Second was Audi driver Nathan Antunes (Skwirk/Beechwood), who was third in race two ahead of Mies/Millier. There was also an Audi victory in the Trophy classification to celebrate: in race two, Mark Griffith won from his stablemates Greg Taylor/Barton Mawer. In the first race, Taylor/Mawer made the podium in third place. Tom Kristensen with Danish crown prince at golf tournament Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen was delighted about receiving an invitation to the European Tour with royal participation. The former professional racing driver competed in the Pro-Am class in the golf event ‘made in Denmark’ with two celebrity competitors – the Danish Crown Prince Frederik and the most successful Danish golfer Thomas Bjørn. Jacob Brunsborg, the son of Himmerland Golf Resort owner Lars Larsen, completed the team. Around 6,000 spectators attended the competition in Farsø in northern Denmark. -

Matters finalised from Race 28: The Stewards held a Hearing to consider the Protest lodged by Racing Team (Aust) Pty against the DRD’s Determination not to refer to the Stewards for the imposition of a Penalty the Incident during Car #97’s second Pit Stop in Race 28 when the rear wheels were observed to rotate. The Stewards dismissed the Protest and published their decision to the parties at 1530hrs. No Notice of Intention to Appeal from the Stewards’ decision was received from any party within the time prescribed by Rule B5.2.1.2. Matters from Qualifying for Race 29: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD conducted a post-Session investigation at the request of Motorsport Holdings Pty Ltd into an allegation that Car #7, Andre Heimgartner, was impeded by Car #14, Tim Slade. The DRD reviewed the Judicial Camera footage from Car #7. No Incident was observed on that review and the DRD determined accordingly not to refer the matter to the Stewards. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed There were no Penalties imposed. Matters from Top 10 Shootout for Race 29: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations There were no DRD determinations. Matters from Race 14: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations During the Race the DRD conducted an investigation into an Incident at the exit of Turn 6 on Lap 3 when Car #19, Fabian Coulthard, made contract with the rear of Car #96, Macauley Jones, as a result of which Car #96 spun and lost positions. After reviewing broadcast footage and consulting the DSA, the DRD determined that no breach of the Rules was observed – Car #96 left no room for Car #19 on the outside of Car #96 at the exit of Turn 6. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed the following Penalties during the Race: • A 15 Second Time Penalty for Car #99, Brodie Kostecki, for Careless Driving after an Incident at Turn 1 on Lap 5 when Car #99 made contact with the rear of Car #4, Jack Smith, as a result of which Car #4 spun and lost positions; • A 15 Second Time Penalty for Car #14, Todd Hazelwood, for Careless Driving after an Incident at Turn 6 on Lap 31 when Car #14 made contact with the rear of Car #26 and pushed Car #26. Car #14 failed to yield for Car #26 and made further contact with Car #26 at, and after, the apex of Turn 6 causing Car #26 to spin and lose positions. -

September 19 2012 EREBUS MOTORSPORT ON THE V8 SUPERCAR GRID IN 2013 - Erebus Motorsport and Stone Brothers Racing form new super alliance - The team to field three V8 Supercars from 2013 series commencement - Erebus Motorsport joins the grid through an AMG Customer Sports Program from 2013 - Stone Brothers Racing ends association with Ford V8 Supercars’ longest serving team Stone Brothers Racing will merge with Erebus Motorsport to run three AMG E Class V8 Supercars in the Championship from 2013. The agreement, which has been almost a year in the making since its initial concept in early 2011, is a reality with the newly formed team operating under a Customer Sports Program of AMG. The announcement was made in Melbourne today by Stone Brothers Racing owner Ross Stone, Erebus Motorsport owner Betty Klimenko, Erebus Motorsport CEO Ryan Maddison and V8 Supercar Chairman Tony Cochrane. Erebus Motorsport has been dominant in the Australian GT category with Mercedes-AMG’s SLS AMG GT3 race car. Stone Brothers Racing this morning announced it will be ending its partnership with Ford after a relationship that began when the team was first formed in 1998 and won three Championships with Marcos Ambrose and Russell Ingall. The amicable split paved the way for the Erebus merger. “Since SBR’s inception in 1998 Ford has backed the team and together we have enjoyed many successes including three Championship wins - two with Marcos Ambrose in 2003 and 2004, and again with Russell Ingall in 2005. We also won Bathurst with Jason Bright and Steven Richards in 1998,” Stone said. -

Matters from Race 19: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD investigated the following incidents and determined they did not warrant referral to the Stewards: • Request from Erebus Motorsport complaining that Car 3 did not leave racing room for Car 99 on exit of Turn 3 on Lap 26. • Request from Erebus Motorsport complaining that Car 18 did not leave racing for Car 99 at the exit of Turn 11 on Lap 28. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The following penalties were imposed during Race 19: • A 5 second Time Penalty on Car 2, Bryce Fullwood, for a Pit Lane Infringement (unsafe pit release). • A 15 second Time Penalty on Car 3, Tim Slade, for a Driving Infringement (failing to leave racing room for Car 2 on the exit of Turn 13 on Lap 25). Following a post-race DRD investigation into a report received from Supercars Technical during the Race, and an admission by Matt Stone Racing Pty Ltd, that during its compulsory pit stop, Car 35’s brake lock mechanism was not engaged in compliance with Rule C11.4.2.1, the Stewards imposed a fine of $250 on Matt Stone Racing Pty Ltd. Following a post-race DRD investigation (instigated following a request received from Blanchard Racing) and an admission of a breach of the Code of Driving Conduct by Car 2, Bryce Fullwood, the Stewards imposed a penalty of the addition of 5 seconds to the Race Time of Car 2 in Race 19. -

A RENAULT ‘FAMILY’ Jean Rédélé was the first-born son of Madeleine Prieur and Emile Rédélé, a Renault dealer based in Dieppe and a former mechanic of Ferenc Szisz – the first Renault Frères ‘factory driver’, winner of the Grand Prix de la Sarthe in 1906 at Le Mans and runner-up in the Grand Prix de l'A.C.F. in Dieppe in 1907. Louis Renault himself had hired Emile Rédélé right at the beginning of the 20th Century. At the end of the First World War, at the request of Louis Renault, the young Emile Rédélé settled in Dieppe and opened a Renault dealership there in rue Thiers. Two years later, Jean-Emile- Amédée Rédélé was born on May 17, 1922. After completing his studies in Normandy, Jean Rédélé took his Baccalauréat exam during the Second World War and came into contact with people as diverse as Antoine Blondin, Gérard Philipe and Edmond de Rothschild.
