1 – HOW GETTING TO & FROM

 To get to Bologna by plane

Bologna International Airport Guglielmo Marconi (BLQ)

If your flight arrive s at the Bologna International Airport (BLQ) , you can find an Aerobus to the City Centre ( “Mille” stop) and the Central Railway Station , running every 11 min: http://aerobus.bo.it/en . One - way ticket from/to the Airport costs € 6.00. Tickets can be purchased (a) directly on this website, (b) from the automatic machines located in the airport, (c) at the Central Railway Station (at the Aerobus departure point) , or (d) on board, but it would be preferable to have the exact amount.

The Bologna Welcome Tourist Information Office is located at the ground floor of the airport , at the Arrivals Area.

Bologna Central Station – Piazza delle Medagli e d'Oro, 2 - 40121 Bologna (BO)

The central train station is open every day, 24 hours a day. The ticket office is open daily from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm. At the counters, there are the self - service machi nes to buy tickets afterhours. To know timetable and cost details, you can visit the webs ite.

Tickets : 1 way ( valid for just over 1 hour) = 1,30 € if purchased at a tobacco shop or a newsstand, and 1,50 € if purchased at the machine on board. City Pass (10 tickets) = 12,00 €; Daily = 5€. Travel tickets could be purchased before boarding (or on board) and be validated at the machine on board .

 To get from to Bologna

If you land at Rome Fiumicino Airport , trains to Termini t rain station leave every 10 - 15 minutes. It takes about 30 - 35 minutes to get from the a irport to the train station .

If you land at Rome Ciampino Airport , trains to Termini train station leave every 5 - 25 minutes. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get from the a irport to the train station .

Trains leave from Rome (Termini station) to Bologna (Central station) every 10 or 20 minutes (s ome examples on 2 1 st M arch 2018: 13:20, 13:30, 13:50, 14:20, 14:30, 14:45, 14:50, 15:15 etc.). The journey from Roma to Bologna takes about 2 hours with high speed train s ( Frecciarossa ) and 4 hours with Intercity trains .

 To get from Milan to Bologna

If you land at Milan Malpensa Airport , trains to Milan Central train station leave every 30 minutes. It takes about 1 hour to get from the airport to the train station .

Trains leave from Milan (Central station) to Bologna (Central station) every 5 or 15 minutes (s ome examples on 2 1 st March 2018: 13:30, 13:35, 14:20, 14:30, 14:48, 15:10, 15:20, 15:30 etc .). The journey from Milan to Bologna takes about 1 hour with high speed train s ( Frecciarossa ) and 2 hours with Intercity trains .
